About Permafrost
For an aura sold on its climate, Permafrost has an unusually practical description: you can find it in the cold lands all year, unaffected by seasons. The Sol's RNG Wiki sketches the visuals as ice spikes under the feet in light blue and white, an icy fog made from recolored fire, and a thin horizontal square that rotates around the player.
It is a Unique aura from before the Main Update with a base chance of 1 in 73,500, improved to 1 in 24,500 in the Snowy biome. At 1x luck that is roughly 73,500 rolls against 24,500, and at 10x about 7,350 against 2,450. The cutscene is the same teal star in either case. The wiki also lists a crafting route that is anything but light: 2 Subzero Devices, 1 Biome Randomizer, 7 Warp Potions, 3 Potions of Bound, 300 Pole Light Core Devices, 1 Combinator and 1 Frozen Gauntlet. The creator listed is ep1k_solg.
