At the peak, where the rocky cliffs towered above all and when evil swelled to it's fullest breath, at the height of the vilest midnight, a gentle violet radiance spilled throughout the streets. The screams of agony and depression quelled. The people looked to the skies and smiled. And so the blackest night split open. A brilliance in the vantablack; Doors creaked. Windows glowed. Those med who held knives in fists full of rage and fury dropped them to wipe the tears form their faces. Women who screamed curses and whispered witchcraft looked up and wept instead. Something within the townsfolk changed on those night, for that light did not burn; it forgave. Until one decade, the girl showed alone. Up at that hiking trail, without that boy; the conduit, he did not follow. Still, she climbed, still, she peaked. But as the vilest, most demonic pitch of midnight deepened into darkness, there was no violet. The monolith remained quiet. The screams in the town did not stop.
