Resumen rápido

Controls, court roles, spin odds, what 100 and 250 Yen buy, AFK Lobby math and Ranked ranks, all from the Volleyball Legends Wiki.

How do you play Volleyball Legends?

Volleyball Legends is a 6v6 Roblox volleyball game with casual and ranked play. You click to bump and spike, press Q to set and block, and press Ctrl to dive. Equip a Style (your estadísticas) and an Ability (a special skill), earn Yen, spin for better ones, and reach Level 15 for Ranked and Secret styles.

Everything below comes from the Volleyball Legends Wiki as we read it on octubre 24, 2026, plus the game's Roblox page. Where a number is our own arithmetic or our own opinion, the text says so.

The controls

One button does two jobs depending on whether the ball is on the ground or in the air, so learn them as pairs. These are the defaults from the wiki's controls notes, and the Roblox page lists the same click, Q and Ctrl layout.

SetQLTOn the ground

TossLeft clickRTOn the ground
SpikeLeft clickRTIn the air

Serving takes two clicks, according to the Roblox page, and the wiki puts Toss on the same left click. Setters who want to place the ball can hold W, A, S or D while jump-setting on PC. The wiki calls that tilt setting highly useful for moving the ball to a spiker who is already in position. If a "TOO LOW" message appears, the wiki's FAQ says your spike was hit too early or too late.

Custom keybinds and jump-setting arrived in Update 3, a Ball Drop Indicator in Update 1 and mobile button customization in Update 11. Update 71 added a tutorial that teleports new players to a tutorial lobby, and the Roblox page says actualizaciones ship every Saturday at 11:30am EST.

Court roles: pick one before you pick a style

The wiki says there is no single best style and that you should choose by the role you want on court. Every style lists one or more roles. Of the 45 obtainable styles, 24 list one role and 20 list two. The Twins is counted under four roles here because its two forms cover Server and Setter (Akuto) and Spiker and Blocker (Okuro), although the Type row on its wiki page lists only Server and Setter. The last column is the best permanent pick by the formula behind our tier list, which turns the wiki's estimated estadísticas into a role score and a rank out of 45.

RoleJob on court (per the wiki)StylesBest permanent pick
SpikerSpike the ball for points19Bakuri (Godly): score 86.5, rank 6
SetterSet up plays for teammates15Kisuki (Secret): score 95.7, rank 2
BlockerBlock fast spikes12Hirakumi (Godly): score 87.3, rank 3
LiberoReceive hard hits8Kisuki (Secret): score 100.4, rank 2
ServerAce the ball for a quick point12Okazu (Godly): serve stat 100
All-RounderNot defined on the Styles page2Hinto (Common): 50 in seven estadísticas, serve 55

All six picks are permanent styles, so none of them depends on a limited-time window. Kisuki is a Secret style and needs Level 15. The surprise for new players is further down the list: Ninyoku, a Rare style, ranks third of 45 as a receiver (score 95.0), and the Legendary Yokai ranks fifth as a blocker (85.0). You do not need a Godly roll to play a role well. These scores rest on estimated estadísticas, so they are a guía, not a promise. Our best styles by position page goes role by role.

How Styles and Abilities fit together

A Style sets eight estadísticas: block, bump, dive, jump, serve, set, speed and spike. The wiki's Styles page says those estadísticas shape things like serve power, block strength, set speed, jump height and spike power, and many styles add a special move on top. There are 45 obtainable styles in seven rarities (Common, Rare, Legendary, Godly, Secret, Ultra, Evo). Our styles guía has all 45 with their numbers.

An Ability is a separate skill you fire from a gauge. There are 14 abilities in five rarities. The gauge fills when you touch the ball or score a point after the last touch. It also fills on its own, but the wiki says that rate is extremely slow, so the more involved you are in a rally, the more often you can use it. Styles and abilities stack, and an ability does not change your stat sheet. Boom Jump, for example, launches you to a fixed, very high jump whatever style you wear.

That detail matters for pairing. Only five styles have a jump stat of 50 (Hinto, Kishoti, Ninyoku, Sagumi, Sazuroku), while 26 of the 45 sit at 100 or higher. On paper, a fixed high jump helps those five far more than it helps the rest. Super Sprint is the ability you own from the start: a speed boost of roughly 80 to 90 percent for 4 seconds. Browse the whole list in our abilities guía or on the ability pages.

What to spend Yen on first

A Style Spin costs 100 Yen. An Ability Spin costs 250 Yen. Here are the odds the wiki lists for each.

RaritySpin, Lv 1-14Spin, Lv 15+Lucky spin, Lv 1-14Lucky spin, Lv 15+
Common62.5%62.5%0%0%
Rare35%35%50%50%
Legendary2%2%45%45%
Godly0.505%0.495%5.25%4.75%
Secret0%0.01%0%0.5%
Ultra and Evo (styles only)0%0.005%0%0.25%

The wiki's tables do not sum to exactly 100%, and the Ultra and Evo row comes from a second table variant that also lowers Godly slightly. Ability Spins use the same odds without the Ultra and Evo row.

Two things stand out. First, Level 15 does not add odds, it reshuffles them: at 15 and above the Godly slice plus the Secret slice is 0.495 + 0.01 = 0.505 on a normal spin and 4.75 + 0.5 = 5.25 on a Lucky spin, which is exactly the Godly number below Level 15. Second, a Lucky spin can never return a Common, and about half the time it returns a Rare.

Pity softens the bad luck. Every 50 Style Spins you get a random Legendary (94.5%), Godly (5%) or, around 0.5% of the time, Secret style. Every 50 Ability Spins you get a Legendary (95%) or Godly (5%) ability. Multiply by the costs and that is 5,000 Yen to reach a style pity and 12,500 Yen for an ability pity.

Our judgement, not the wiki's:

  1. 1Spend Yen on Style Spins first. They cost 2.5 times less per spin, and a style defines your whole stat sheet.
  2. 2Buy Ability Spins second. If the 62.5% Common slice splits evenly across its three abilities, about one normal Ability Spin in five would repeat the Super Sprint you already have (62.5 / 3 = 20.8%). That split is our assumption, because the wiki does not state per-ability odds.
  3. 3Save Lucky spins for Level 15. Below 15 the Secret chance is 0%, and Ultra and Evo are 0% too. The total top-end share is the same, but only at 15 can it turn into a Secret style.

Lucky spins come from the Season Pass, developer códigos, Robux, Easter eggs (Season 14), gifts, the Special Gem Store, Daily Tasks and Ranked rewards. As of our wiki read, the códigos page lists three active códigos: UPDATE_93 and CURSED for 5 Lucky Style Spins each, and TOURNAMENT for 5 Lucky Ability Spins. The wiki says códigos need Level 15 and work once per account; in our records a new set has arrived with each Saturday update. For the pity math in detail, read the Lucky Spins guide.

How to earn Yen

SourceWhat it paysNotes
AFK Lobby20 to 1,000 Yen per reward, one reward every 2 minutesNo level requirement; reward table below
Matches and activitiesYen for finishing matchesThe wiki gives no per-match amounts
Quests and Daily TasksYen, Gems or Lucky SpinsDaily Tasks arrived in Update 67; an unfinished one can be rerolled for 50 Gems
Ranked rewards2,500 Yen at the third Bronze rank, 5,000 Yen at the second Diamond rankOther ranks pay spins, titles or cosmetics
Robux packs1,000 Yen for R$199; 2,500 for R$399; 7,500 for R$799; 25,000 for R$1,999About R$199, R$160, R$107 and R$80 per 1,000 Yen
VIP and PremiumVIP gives 2x Yen from wins; the Roblox page says Premium gives +10% YenVIP is listed at R$399

The AFK Lobby is the best free source for a new player, so here is its full reward table.

Reward every 2 minutesChance
20 Yen70%
40 Yen18%
60 Yen10.5%
100 Season Pass currency0.5%
200 Yen0.5%
Griddy0.4%
Water Ball0.08%
1,000 Yen0.02%

Add up only the Yen rows (20 x 70%, 40 x 18%, 60 x 10.5%, 200 x 0.5% and 1,000 x 0.02%) and each reward averages 28.7 Yen, or about 861 Yen an hour. By that arithmetic one Style Spin costs roughly 3.5 rewards (7 minutes), one Ability Spin about 17 minutes, and a 5,000 Yen style pity close to 5.8 hours. It ignores the non-Yen rows and the extra luck from VIP or Premium (+10% each, +20% with both), and it trusts the wiki's table.

What changes at Level 15

Level 15 is the level cap, set in Update 18 on mayo 10, 2025. It gates a lot: Ranked, Pro Servers, redeeming códigos, every Secret, Ultra and Evo style, and the Secret abilities. The level system and Pro Servers first appeared in Update 2. The AFK Lobby has no level requirement. For what the top rarities look like, see our Secret styles guía.

Ranked basics

You pick a mode, play 5 placement games, and get an initial rank in that mode. Each mode keeps its own rank, and every rank resets to Unranked when a new season starts (Season 18 is current on the wiki). Current modes are 1v1, MINI 1v1 (smaller court, spike serving allowed), 2v2, SHIPWRECK 2v2 (each score removes a piece of the court), 3v3, 4v4 and 6v6. Leaving or disconnecting costs 50 Elo, or 60 once you have reached Pro. The wiki also recommends playing 2v2 and larger modes with friends, because solo queues can be unpredictable.

From Pro upward the wiki calls it the Champion League. Players at Pro or higher can ban one style per team each game (Update 79), and a Pro player can fall back to Diamond III after Season 15. Rank rewards include Yen, Lucky spins, titles and season cosmetics; check the in-game rewards screen for which rank pays which spin type.

A sensible first week

  1. 1Run the tutorial, then learn the pairs: click for bump and spike, Q for set and block.
  2. 2Pick a role, then pick the best style for it that you own. Use the tier list if you are choosing between two.
  3. 3Park in the AFK Lobby when you are not queuing, and put the Yen into Style Spins until you hit the 5,000 Yen pity.
  4. 4Hold Lucky spins and códigos until you reach Level 15.
  5. 5At 15, try Ranked placement in a small mode first, then climb.

FAQ

What are the controls in Volleyball Legends?

On PC, left click bumps and tosses on the ground and spikes in the air, Q sets on the ground and blocks in the air, Ctrl dives and E jump-sets. On console that is RT, LT, X and no key for jump set. Serving takes two clicks, per the game's Roblox page.

What level do I need for Ranked in Volleyball Legends?

Level 15. Ranked starts with 5 placement games in the mode you pick, each mode keeps its own rank, and every rank resets to Unranked when a new season begins. Level 15 also gates Pro Servers, código redemption and the Secret, Ultra and Evo styles.

Should I spin for styles or abilities first?

Styles first. A Style Spin costs 100 Yen against 250 for an Ability Spin, and the 50-spin pity costs 5,000 Yen for styles against 12,500 for abilities. That order is our judgement from the costs; the wiki does not rank the two.

How do I earn Yen without spending Robux?

Play matches, finish quests and Daily Tasks, collect Ranked rewards, and sit in the AFK Lobby, which has no level requirement and pays a reward every 2 minutes. By the wiki's reward table that averages about 28.7 Yen per reward, or roughly 861 Yen an hour.

When can I get Secret styles?

At Level 15. Below that, the Secret chance on a spin is 0%. At Level 15 and above the wiki lists 0.01% on a normal Style Spin and 0.5% on a Lucky Style Spin, plus a pity system that guarantees a chosen Secret style after enough Lucky Style Spins.
