Description
Kitsune is a Mythical Beast-type fruit that costs 8,000,000 Beli or 4,000 Robux, making it one of the priciest fruits in the game. It channels the power of a legendary fox spirit, letting you unleash blue flame attacks and eventually transform into a full Kitsune form. Build up your tail meter to unlock transformation, then devastate enemies with enhanced versions of moves like Accursed Enchantment and Tails of Burning Agony. In its transformed state you gain a 20% damage reduction and can even walk on water. Kitsune is praised as nearly as effective as Buddha for grinding across all three seas, with strong multi-target capability. It is not awakenable, but its raw power and unique passive mechanics keep it firmly in the top tier for both PvP and grinding.
Moves & Abilities
12 movesThe user slashes the air, creating blue flame slashes. On the fourth slash, the user swipes in a whirlwind style. The last slash has two variations; on the ground, the user swipes downwards, leaving a faint crack for a few moments. In the air, the user kicks the opponent to the ground (Both variations deal the same amount of damage). Once at 3 tails, the slashes will inflict ticking damage and the opponent will be covered in blue flames for between 4-5 seconds and the base damage will increase too. Every slash drains the Tails meter by a bit. Jumping right before the final slam or using the M1’s in the air will make the user perform a slash instead of a slam. This attack consumes 7.5% of the visible Tails meter if all 5 M1s are used.
This move has two distinct variants: * If hit: ** The user summons blue fire flames that circle the opponent for some time before hitting the opponent multiple times, dealing damage. * If not hit: ** The user creates a small AoE that deals low damage to nearby targets. This move consumes 10% of the visible Tails meter.
This move does damage in a zig-zag shape, first hitting one corner, then hitting another, and finally hitting the target. This move stuns the enemy for ~0.65s. This move consumes 12.5% of the visible Tails meter.
The user summons a ball of blue flames and strikes it at the enemy when the key is released. The ball of flames will erupt into a huge explosion, and flames will be present if landed near the ground. These Instinct/Break
The user transforms into a full Kitsune. The user gains the ability to avoid all basic damage (for one second) while transforming. In total, this move consumes 30% of the visible Tails meter.
The user dashes forward and, if they hit a target, slashes the target with its claws multiple times, similar to a mix of the True Triple Katana’s and Rengoku's move and the Empyrean’s M1s. This move consumes 10% of the visible tails meter.
Same as untransformed with 3 tails, but with slightly larger AoE, hitbox and damage. This attack consumes 7.5% of the visible Tails meter if all 5 M1s are used.
The user summons three blue fireballs and dashes forward. This move possesses two distinct variations: *If hit: ** Targets up to 1-3 opponents, launching them backward and shooting a ball of blue flames per target (untransformed C is used), causing an explosion of blue flames as well as ticking damage. *If not hit: ** The user will spin and launch a flurry of blue fireballs around them, causing a large AoE explosion. This move consumes 15% of the visible Tails meter.
The user dashes forward in a zig-zag shape. If it hits, the user will grab the enemy, carry them into the air, and then slam them to the ground hard. This move will Instinct/Break
The user launches a blue fireball and causes widespread damage. After impact, there will be blue flames that cause extremely large damage over time. This move consumes 25% of the visible Tails meter.
The user transforms back into their human form instantly and in turn restores their ability to use Fighting Styles, Swords, and Guns.
The user dashes towards the enemy and swipes with their tail, similar to the True Triple Katana’s move, Rengoku move and Empyrean’s M1s. This move consumes 15% of the visible Tails meter.

- ✗All moves mentioned above require some energy from the Kitsune Tails bar.
- ✗Only one movement ability (three in Transformation, compensated by speed boost after gaining two tails).

Trivia
10- 1Kitsune is the second fan-made fruit to be added to the game, with the first being Sound.
- 2The original concept was created by @Kuzuryu_Kei (X Handle), one of the winners of the first fan fruit/art contest.
- 3Kitsune is currently the third most expensive fruit in the game behind Control and Dragon.
- 4Kitsune is the first Beast fruit that allows allied players to mount, the second being Dragon.
- 5It is worth noting that Agility (Rabbit's V3 ability) does not have nearly as much effect as when not transformed. While it is noticeable, it is mostly negligible.
- 6Despite being based on a nine-tailed fox, Kitsune normally only has three tails and five tails when transformed; this is probably due to the design of the model, although it still has nine tails in the icon.
- 7The same happens to Inventory Icon and Physical Fruit, while the Inventory Icon model has 4 tails, Physical Fruit only has 3 tails.
- 8When walking whilst using Kitsune with two or more tails, the player animation will shift from crawling on all fours to an upright & happy skipping animation.
- 9Kitsune used to have a move called "Tailed Beast Bomb" as its [C] move, which got changed into "Fox Fire Disruption" and the [F] move, "Wild Assault" , was called "Swift Assault" in the fruit's sneak peek.
- 10All of Kitsune's moves (excluding ) can only be held for 12 seconds.
Kitsune — In-Depth Analysis
The Kitsune isn't just another Mythical Beast — it's the only fruit in Blox Fruits with a true dual-form transformation gated by an actual resource mechanic. You build up the Tail Meter by landing M1s and skills, which fills tail icons on your back; pop Nine-Tail Transformation and you get a flat +50% movement speed, water-running, a saddle that lets a teammate ride you, and i-frames on the activation startup that make it the cleanest panic button in the game. The base Fox Fire kit already deletes squishies, but it's Illusion Dash (the X move) that locks its S-tier PvP status: the decoy clones force opponents to burn Instinct guesses, and once they whiff, you transformation-combo into Godhuman stuns for guaranteed bursts.
Awakening priority is universal: Foxfire Field first for the AoE wave that cancels Soul Guitar setups, then Illusion Dash for mobility, then the transformation itself last since the base version already shreds. Pair it with Gravity Blade or Cursed Dual Katana for combo extenders, Kabucha as your gun for the long-range stun, and Godhuman as the non-negotiable fighting style. Race-wise, Mink V4 is the consensus pick because stacking its sprint on top of Kitsune's +50% speed makes you genuinely uncatchable, but Sky V4 is a sleeper choice for chasers thanks to the falling-damage immunity that lets you abuse Kitsune's vertical Illusion Dash.
Getting it is the painful part: the Blox Fruit Dealer sells it for 8,000,000 Beli or 4,000 Robux but the stock rotation is brutal, so most players grind Azure Embers on Kitsune Island in the Third Sea and turn them into the Kitsune Shrine for a 0.1% drop — realistically 200+ hours of farming for a single physical roll. The Hachi NPC questline unlocks the island and the tail collection mechanic that progressively transforms your character cosmetically as you complete it. Trade-wise, physical Kitsune sits around 510M–540M value while the Permanent version trades at roughly 5.9B–7.2B, an 8x multiplier that reflects how much grinders hate re-rolling it. If you have the Robux, buy Permanent immediately — physical Kitsune is a trap because you'll lose it on death and the market is too thin to flip it cleanly.
