The Halloween content in Grow a Garden 2 added twelve new pets, and they come from two different places: a secret egg with four pets, and eight wild pets that spawn around the Ghoul Garden map. This guide lists every one of them with the rarity, the chance, the price and what the ability does, using the numbers published on the Grow a Garden 2 Fandom wiki. The wiki dates all of these pets to October 1, 2026.

Wiki values can change with patches, and some pages are still marked as stubs, so use the numbers as a guide and not as a guarantee.
Two ways to get Halloween pets
- 1The Exclusive Halloween Egg. A secret egg that hatches one of four pets.
- 2Wild pets in the Ghoul Garden. Eight pets can spawn anywhere on the map, and you buy them with Candy Corn.
The Ghoul Garden itself is entered through the Explorer Stand by talking to Ethan, and the wiki says it is a separate place inside the game with its own data, themed for Halloween. If you are not sure what Candy Corn is, the wiki says you earn it by selling crops or pets, or by stealing, and we explain it in our Candy Corn guide.
The Exclusive Halloween Egg
It is a secret egg, and its four pets are listed below with the hatch chances from the wiki. Every pet can also hatch as a Big (10%), Mega (0.1%) or Rainbow (5%) version.
| Pet | Rarity | Hatch chance | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gargoyle | Common | 50.24% | Perches over your garden and can turn a thief to stone |
| Skeleton Horse | Uncommon | 39.88% | Passively hunts and kills skeletons for you |
| Dire Wolf | Legendary | 9.47% | A buffed Wolf that calls a bigger pack and can summon a Blood Moon |
| Frank | Mythic | 0.39% | Lightning on your fruit chains to 3 more fruit |
Gargoyle

The Gargoyle stays perfectly still above your garden. When a thief comes, it has a base 35% chance to petrify them for 4 seconds. Big versions rise to 70% and Mega versions to 90%, which is also the cap. After a thief is petrified there is a 20-second cooldown, and the thief gets 6 seconds of immunity.
Skeleton Horse

The Skeleton Horse hunts skeletons within 60 studs on a base cooldown of 60 seconds. A kill takes about 8 seconds and the wiki says it pays 300 Candy Corn. Its trample radius is 4 studs for Normal, 6 for Big and 8 for Mega, and boosts shorten the cooldown.
Dire Wolf

The Dire Wolf howls every 60 seconds. Whenever a moon rises it summons wild animals: 5 for Normal, 8 for Big and 12 for Mega. Each howl also has a 3% base chance to summon a Blood Moon (6% Big, 9% Mega), and after one happens the server has a 50-minute cooldown before another can be triggered.
Frank

Frank is the rare one. When lightning strikes one of your fruit, Frank makes the strike chain to 3 additional fruit, with a base cooldown of 90 seconds between chains. Big cuts it to 45 seconds and Mega to 30 seconds. The number of extra fruit stays at 3 for every size.
Wild pets in the Ghoul Garden
These pets spawn on the map and can be bought. The prices are in Candy Corn.
| Pet | Rarity | Spawn chance | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ghost Dog | Common | 11.9% | 30,000 |
| Black Cat | Uncommon | 7.14% | 50,000 |
| Black Crow | Rare | 4.29% | 100,000 |
| Bat | Legendary | 2.38% | 1,200,000 |
| Tarantula | Mythic | 0.225% | 10,000,000 |
| Vampire Fox | Mythic | 0.1% | 10,000,000 |
| Mummy | Super | 0.034% | 30,000,000 |
| Centipede | Secret | 0.012% | 90,000,000 |
One small warning: the wiki's Black Crow page mentions the Fall Harvest map in its obtainment line, while the other Halloween pets say Ghoul Garden. The wiki has not fixed that yet, so we list the price and chance as published.
Ghost Dog and Black Cat

The Ghost Dog turns you into a ghost every 5 minutes. You are invisible for 30 seconds, 60 for Big and 90 for Mega. The Black Cat is a trade: it makes Gold and Rainbow mutations x2 rarer on your plants (x3 Big, x4 Mega), but rarer wild animals start showing up. If you want mutations, think twice before equipping it.

Black Crow

The Black Crow hoots every 60 seconds (30 Big, 20 Mega) and each hoot draws a wild animal out onto the map. It is a good helper if you want more wild pets to tame.
Bat

The Bat is a defender. When someone steals fruit from you, it bites them and stuns them for 2 seconds (4 Big, 6 Mega), with a bite radius of 3, 4.5 or 6 studs. The same victim cannot be bitten again for a base 10 seconds. The bite also takes Candy Corn equal to 0.5% of the victim's balance.
Tarantula and Vampire Fox

The Tarantula punishes robbers. When another player robs or hits you, it can web them for 2 seconds and force them to drop one eligible item. The base cooldown is 5 minutes, and the target gets 30 seconds of web immunity.

The Vampire Fox is the opposite: it works for you at night. Every 5 to 10 seconds it has an 85% chance to start stealing seeds from other players and bring them to you, 1 seed for Normal, up to 2 for Big and up to 3 for Mega. It also has a 35% chance to try to snatch Candy Corn equal to 0.5% of the victim's balance, but only if it gets home with the haul.
Mummy and Centipede

The Mummy curses every wild pet that anyone on the server brings home, and gives you a copy with a base 1% chance (2% Big, 3% Mega). The total chance is capped at 25% and you can get at most 5 copies a day.

The Centipede has three jobs: at night it steals ripe fruit from empty gardens, it bites thieves until they drop your fruit, and it adds +5 to your walk speed (+10 Big, +15 Mega).
How sizes change the abilities
Almost every ability on the wiki scales with the pet's size, so a Big or Mega copy is worth much more than a Normal one. A few examples from the pet pages make the pattern clear.
| Pet | Normal | Big | Mega |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gargoyle petrify chance | 35% | 70% | 90% |
| Ghost Dog invisibility | 30 seconds | 60 seconds | 90 seconds |
| Black Crow hoot interval | 60 seconds | 30 seconds | 20 seconds |
| Bat stun | 2 seconds | 4 seconds | 6 seconds |
| Mummy copy chance | 1% | 2% | 3% |
| Centipede walk speed | +5 | +10 | +15 |
Rainbow versions add a smaller bonus on top of the size bonus. For example, the wiki lists a Rainbow Gargoyle at 43.75% and a Mega Rainbow one at the same 90% cap. Because Big is only a 10% chance and Mega only 0.1% in the Exclusive Halloween Egg, a lucky hatch changes the value of a pet a lot.
Which pets are best for what?
This is our own reading of the wiki, not tested.
| Goal | Pets to look at |
|---|---|
| Protect your garden | Gargoyle, Bat, Tarantula, Centipede |
| Earn Candy Corn | Skeleton Horse (300 per kill), Vampire Fox |
| Get more wild pets | Black Crow, Mummy, Dire Wolf |
| Look cool or move faster | Ghost Dog, Centipede |
| Something special in the sky | Dire Wolf with its Blood Moon chance |
Do not forget that the Necromancer Staff, a gear item in the Ghoul Garden Gear Shop, claims every wild pet on the map at once for free. Read about it in our Ghoul Garden gear guide.

Can I get these pets in the main garden? The wiki lists them only for the Halloween update and its Ghoul Garden map, so check the pet pages for the latest status.
