Katana is the classic A-tier Japanese blade and the soul of Sailor Piece's swordsmanship identity — inspired by every samurai archetype from Demon Slayer's Tanjiro to One Piece's Zoro. Clean, disciplined, and devastatingly effective in skilled hands. M1 chains have the fastest per-hit speed of any sword in the game and deal reliable mid-range damage, Z fires a precise Iaido draw-and-cut slash wave, X performs a sheathed-state dash that ends with a three-hit unsheathe combo, and V activates Blade of the Samurai — a sustained 3-second sheathed stance where the next attack deals 4x damage with the fastest possible draw speed. Fundamentals made lethal.

The ideal pairing for Katana is the Human race for the sword-damage passive and Haki or Color of the Supreme King fighting style to amplify every aspect of the kit. The Blade of the Samurai V stance is the entire gameplan — bait your opponent's heavy skill, immediately enter V stance, and release on the recovery lag. This window is one of the most satisfying and skill-testing punish opportunities in Sailor Piece. Never telegraph the stance entry; mix it into idle animation transitions.

Katana is available from the Samurai Sensei NPC on Wano Island for 800,000 Beli, making it highly accessible. A T5 upgraded Katana is genuinely competitive at A+ level and many veterans keep one in their loadout rotation. Trade value for standard copies is near zero, but T5 copies trade for 500,000–1,500,000 Beli or 0.5 T2 Fruit among players who recognize its potential.
