Quick answer: how to play Sol's RNG
You press Roll, the game picks an aura by chance, and you keep the rare ones. Luck lowers the odds, so the loop is simple: roll, craft gears from the auras you get, stack potions, and roll during biomes that make certain auras easier. Every 10th roll is a Bonus Roll with double luck.
That's the whole game. The rest is knowing which of those pieces matter in your first hour and which ones can wait. Every number in this guide comes from the Sol's RNG Wiki (read on October 24, 2026). Nothing here was tested in-game by us, and where the math is ours, the formula is shown so you can check it.
What a roll actually is
The Roll button sits at the bottom center of the screen. Press it and a wheel spins, then the game shows the aura you got. According to the wiki's Rolling page, one roll takes about 3.2 seconds with no modifiers (spin plus cooldown). The Quick Roll gamepass (100 Robux) cuts that to about 1.2 seconds by skipping the animation.
You don't have to click forever. Auto Roll is free, but the wiki says you need to join the Sol's Studio Roblox group to use it, and it rejoins you every 20 minutes so Roblox's anti-AFK doesn't kick you. Turn it on early. Most of this game happens while you're not looking.
Two settings are worth touching on day one:
- Auto Equip equips anything above a rarity you set. Leave it high so a 1 in 16 Rare doesn't replace something good.
- Roll Cutscene skips the opening animation for anything below a rarity you choose. Set it to around 1,000 and the low rolls stop eating your time.
Your first auras will be Common (1 in 2), Uncommon (1 in 4), Good (1 in 5) and Natural (1 in 8). The full aura list by rarity shows every tier, but for now the ones you care about are Rare (1 in 16), Divinus (1 in 32) and Crystallized (1 in 64), because they're crafting material.
The Bonus Roll
Look at the counter under the Roll button. On every 10th roll it says "x2 Luck Ready", and that roll gets double luck. The wiki's Rolling page says this doubling applies to most luck sources, like the Lucky Potion, but not to one-roll potions that add flat luck (the Heavenly Potion, the Oblivion Potion and similar).
What that means in practice: on average, your luck across ten rolls is 1.1 times your normal luck (nine rolls at 1x, one at 2x). It's a small bonus at the start. Later, left-hand gears change it a lot. The Gravitational Device turns the Bonus Roll into 6x, and the Flesh Device makes every roll a 1.3x bonus roll. The luck guide does the math on which one wins.
Follow the tutorial (it pays you)
The tutorial was added in Eon 1-6, and the wiki's Tutorial page lays out its quests. Don't skip it. Here's what it hands you:
- 1Roll once and equip the aura.
- 2Roll 10 times. The "[Tutorial Quest] Roll 10 Times" daily quest gives 1 Tutorial Potion and 400 coins.
- 3Use the Tutorial Potion from your inventory.
- 4Accept "A Road to Gears" on the Quest Board (1,000 coins) and craft a Gear Basing at Jake's Workshop.
- 5Batch 1: roll 60 times, craft the Luck Glove, and finish the Obby for the Basic Blessing.
- 6Batch 2: roll an aura above 1 in 1,000, craft the Lunar Device, roll 150 times, talk to Stella in the cave, and deliver "10 Lucky and Speed potions" to Lime (the wiki words it exactly like that).
- 7Batch 3: talk to Fischl and visit the Grail of Resonance.
Notice that the tutorial itself steers you toward the two first gears. That's the right order.
Your first gears
Gears are equipped items with permanent buffs. The wiki's Gears page splits them into right-hand, left-hand and pocket slots, so you can wear one of each. Most are crafted at Jake's Workshop from auras you've rolled. These are the Tier 1 options you can realistically craft early:
| Gear | Slot | Effect | Recipe (auras) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luck Glove | Right | +25% luck | 2 Divinus, 1 Crystallized, 3 Rare |
| Desire Glove | Right | +40% luck | 1 Rage, 1 Ruby, 1 Diaboli, 1 Bleeding |
| Solar Device | Right | +50% luck | 1 Solar, 1 Divinus, 1 Rare |
| Lunar Device | Right | +15% roll speed | 1 Rare, 1 Divinus, 1 Lunar |
| Frozen Gauntlet | Right | +150% luck, -25% roll speed | 1 Glacier, 1 Permafrost |
| Gemstone Gauntlet | Left | 0-30% luck or roll speed for 10 rolls, every 10 rolls | Topaz, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, Aquamarine, Quartz (1 each) |
The Luck Glove comes first because none of its parts is rarer than 1 in 64. After that, the honest pick is the Solar Device: +50% luck for one Solar, and Solar gets much easier during the day. The Frozen Gauntlet has the biggest number on the table, but Permafrost is 1 in 73,500 (1 in 24,500 in Snowy), so it isn't an early craft for most people. And the Gemstone Gauntlet is the only one here that fills your left hand, so craft it as soon as you have the six gems.
Here's the bit that most beginner guides skip. Solar and Lunar are listed at 1 in 50,000, which sounds awful. But each drops to 1 in 5,000 during its half of the day cycle, and the wiki's Biomes page says Daytime and Nighttime swap every 2 minutes and 30 seconds. With no gear, your average luck is 1.1, so a 1 in 5,000 aura takes about 4,545 rolls on average (5,000 / 1.1). At 3.2 seconds a roll, that's roughly 4 hours of rolling during night, or about 8 hours of total play once you count the daytime you spend waiting. With a Luck Glove and the Basic Blessing up (average luck about 1.7), it drops to around 2,900 rolls. So yes, gear first, then go after Lunar.
Potions: what to use and what to save
Potions are where new players waste the most. The wiki's Items page lists these early ones:
| Potion | How you get it | Effect | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lucky Potion | Spawns on the ground; Mari, Jester, fishing shop | +25% luck | 1 minute |
| Speed Potion | Spawns on the ground | +10% roll speed | 1 minute |
| Fortune Potion I | Craft from 10 Lucky Potions | +50% luck | 5 minutes |
| Fortune Potion II | Craft from 25 Lucky Potions | +75% luck | 5 minutes |
| Fortune Potion III | Craft from 50 Lucky Potions | +100% luck | 5 minutes |
| Haste Potion I | Craft from 10 Speed Potions | +20% roll speed | 5 minutes |
| Haste Potion III | Craft from 50 Speed Potions | +30% roll speed | 5 minutes |
The stacking rule matters. Per the wiki, potions of the same type at different levels don't stack, so a Haste Potion II and a Haste Potion I won't both apply. Different types do stack (a Haste Potion with a Speed Potion is fine), and using more of the same potion extends its duration.
So don't drink Lucky Potions one by one. Ten of them last ten minutes at +25%. Crafted into a Fortune Potion I, the same ten give +50% for five minutes. Same total, but it's concentrated, and the tutorial asks you to deliver some to Lime anyway.
Then there are the one-roll potions. The Potion of Bound adds +50,000 luck to your next roll, and the Heavenly Potion adds +150,000. They're expensive to craft (the Heavenly needs 250 Lucky Potions plus Celestial, Exotic, Powered and Quartz auras). Save them. They're better used once you own the VIP gamepass, because VIP is the only multiplier that still applies to them.
The Obby and the Basic Blessing
The Obby starts at a wooden pier and ends at a small temple with a green star. Finish it and you get the Basic Blessing: +30% luck for 1 minute. The wiki's Obby page says it regenerates every 2 minutes in public servers (half that in private servers) and has stacked since Era 8, up to a 30-minute cap. It also notes that the blessing regenerates instantly if you leave and rejoin.
That makes it a cheap +30% whenever you're active. It's more than the Luck Glove gives you.
Biomes: when to keep rolling
Biomes are weather that rolls every second in the background. When one spawns, you get a chat message, and auras native to that biome get their odds divided by the biome's breakthrough multiplier. These come from the wiki's Biomes and Rolling pages:
| Biome | Spawn chance per second | Lasts | Native odds divided by |
|---|---|---|---|
| Windy | 1 in 500 | 2 minutes | 3 |
| Snowy | 1 in 600 | 2 minutes | 3 |
| Rainy | 1 in 750 | 2 minutes | 4 |
| Sandstorm | 1 in 3,000 | 650 seconds | 4 |
| Hell | 1 in 6,666 | 666 seconds | 6 |
| Starfall | 1 in 7,500 | 650 seconds | 5 |
| Heaven | 1 in 7,777 | 240 seconds | 5 |
| Lost Forest | 1 in 8,128 | 450 seconds | 2 |
| Corruption | 1 in 9,000 | 650 seconds | 5 |
| Null | 1 in 10,100 | 99 seconds | 1,000 |
| Daytime / Nighttime | Swap every 2:30 | 2:30 | 10 |
Most biomes also spawn an item (Wind Essence, Icicle, Rainy Bottle and others) that the wiki says goes into the Strange Controller, or can be offered at the Grail of Resonance during that biome for a small luck and roll speed boost. Pick them up.
You don't need to chase biomes early. You just need to not be AFK-killed during them, which is what Auto Roll is for. The biomes page lists every native aura per biome.
Your first hour, in order
- 1Join the Sol's Studio group and turn on Auto Roll.
- 2Do the tutorial up to the Gear Basing quest.
- 3Run the Obby for the Basic Blessing.
- 4Craft the Luck Glove as soon as you have 2 Divinus, 1 Crystallized and 3 Rare.
- 5Pick up every Lucky and Speed Potion you see. Hold some back for the Lime delivery quest.
- 6Craft the Gemstone Gauntlet when the six gems show up.
- 7Roll through the night for Lunar (Lunar Device) and through the day for Solar (Solar Device).
- 8Turn Lucky Potions into a Fortune Potion and use it while you're rolling, not while you're away.
Then check the codes page for any codes that are active, and browse the gears list and the potions list to plan the next tier. When you want to know how long a specific aura will take with your current luck, the probability calculator does it in one step.
Mistakes worth avoiding
- Drinking a Heavenly Potion on a whim. It's one roll. Use it when the rest of your luck is stacked, and ideally with VIP.
- Auto-equipping low rarities. You'll overwrite something you liked. Set the threshold.
- Selling or ignoring common auras. Rare, Divinus and Crystallized are recipe parts for the first gear.
- Assuming 1 in 50,000 means 50,000 rolls. Biomes and luck change that number a lot. Solar at daytime is 1 in 5,000.
