The x3 income multiplier triples that brainrot's passive cash-per-second output, which puts it firmly in the mid-to-upper tier of traits — well above the minor x1.5–x2 boosts and obviously far clear of the x0.5 Sleepy trait that actively cuts income in half. It is not the ceiling (the legendary x9 Strawberry still sits alone at the top), but a x3 multiplier is strong enough to make any brainrot worth coveting and contesting on your base.

Explosive falls under the rituals category, meaning it is not a relic from launch like the OG traits, not tied to a seasonal holiday window, and not dependent on a staff-run Admin Abuse event. Instead, it is granted through a specific ritual: when the sky fills with Bombardiro Crocodilos dropping Svinina Bombardinos, brainrots that are struck by a falling Svinina Bombardino are randomly awarded the Explosive trait on the spot. The chaos of the event means the application is never guaranteed — positioning and luck both play a role.

Because traits are permanent, an Explosive brainrot keeps its x3 bonus no matter how many times it changes hands — and when you stack that on top of a Mutation, the combined multiplier can push the brainrot's value into top-tier trading territory. Keep high-trait brainrots deep on your base and watch your defenses; rivals will absolutely target them.
