Among all the ways a brainrot can be permanently upgraded, the Lightning trait stands out as a serious income booster — its x5 multiplier quintuples whatever cash-per-second that brainrot was already generating. That puts it well above the common x1.5–x2 minor traits and solidly in mid-to-high territory, though it falls short of the legendary x9 Strawberry at the very top. Still, stacking Lightning on a naturally strong brainrot can make it one of the most productive earners on your base.

Lightning belongs to the Admin Abuse category, meaning it is not earned through the Red Carpet event or a seasonal holiday cycle. Instead, admin-run events trigger a dramatic galaxy-themed sky, and brainrots struck by lightning during that window get the trait applied at random — you cannot plan for it or buy your way in; you simply have to be present and fortunate when staff decide to run the event.

Because traits are permanent and multiply on top of any Mutation the brainrot already carries, a Lightning-traited brainrot is a high-value trading piece. Guard it carefully — if a rival steals it during a raid, they walk away with the multiplier and all.
