How to unlock every Toon in Dandy's World
There are 42 Toons in this guía's data, and 40 of them can be unlocked by a normal player. Everything below comes from the Dandy's World Wiki as of version Alpha 0.29.10 (octubre 23, 2026): the cost in Ichor, the research percentage, the Mastery gates and the evento currency for every Toon, in one place. The two that can't be unlocked are Dandy and Dyle, whom the wiki lists as playable only by developers.
You start with a choice between Boxten and Poppy. After that, each Toon is bought in Dandy's Store with Ichor, and most of them add a second requirement. Those extra requirements fall into four kinds: a research percentage on a Twisted, Mastery on another Toon, a play-count goal such as finishing Machines, and, for event Toons, an evento currency. The sections below take them in that order, then give the full tables.
The four kinds of requirement
Ichor is the main currency. You earn it by completing Machines (5 each), picking up Research Capsules (2 each), using an Active or Toggle ability (5, once per floor), and, only after you die, by completing a floor (5) or meeting a Twisted for the first time (1). From floor 15 onward those two after-death rewards rise to 6 and 1.25. The wiki also lists Ichor packs for Robux: 75 Robux for 300, 375 for 1,500 and 1,250 for 5,500.
Research is progress on a Twisted, the dark counterpart of a Toon. A Research Capsule gives 1%, and two spawn per Twisted on a floor. Meeting a Twisted gives 5%, once per floor. At 1% you see the Twisted's name, at 50% its description, and at 100% you can claim its trinket. Several Toons ask for 50% or 100% on a specific Twisted.
Mastery is a set of six quests per Toon. The reward is that Toon's Vintage skin, and finishing some or all of a Toon's quests is the price of unlocking others. Quest progress only counts while you are using that exact Toon.
Play-count goals are the simple ones: survive a number of floors, finish Machines, own a number of Toons, experience Blackouts, or buy items from Dandy's Elevator Shop.
Starter Toons: Boxten and Poppy
When you first start the game, Boxten and Poppy are offered as the two starters. You pick one for free, and the other joins the Dandy's Store list. The Boxten and Poppy pages both say the one you skip costs 100 Ichor. The wiki's Ichor page lists 250 Ichor for each in its trivia, so the two pages disagree. If you are planning a budget, assume the higher number and treat 100 as the best case.
Poppy is not just a starter. Looey needs every Poppy Mastery quest finished, so Poppy is on the path to Looey, and Looey in turn is on the path to Blot.
Every regular Toon, from cheapest to most expensive
This table covers the 23 year-round, non-Main Toons you can unlock. Dandy and Dyle are excluded. "Twisted rarity" shows how hard the required Twisted is to find, since rarer Twisteds spawn less often.
| Toon | Ichor | Other requirements | Research needed (Twisted rarity) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boxten | Free starter | Obtained for free when first starting the game; 100 Ichor (if Poppy was chosen instead) | - |

| Waxwell | 3,500 | 50% research on Twisted Waxwell; Complete 3 Mastery Quests on Goob | Twisted Waxwell (Rare) |
Three Toons here ask for nothing but Ichor: Shrimpo (100), Tisha (500) and Razzle & Dazzle (2,000). Shrimpo is the cheapest Toon in the game, and the wiki calls him a challenge Toon with one star in every stat. Tisha, at 500, is also the gate for Shelly. A few of the gates are heavier than the price suggests. Glisten needs 300 finished Machines on top of 50% research, and Yatta needs 15 owned Toons, which makes her a late purchase in practice.
How research works, and how long it takes
Research is the slowest requirement because it depends on the Twisted actually spawning. The numbers from the wiki's Research page:
- Two Research Capsules spawn for each Twisted that is on the floor, each worth 1%. Capsules are client-side, so teammates can all pick up the same ones.
- Meeting the Twisted gives 5%, once per floor. You don't need to be hit: coming into its detection range counts.
- Rodger doubles both numbers. His capsules give 2% and his encounters give 10%.
Put together, a floor where a Twisted spawns can give 7% (2% from capsules and 5% from the encounter), or 14% if you are playing as Rodger. The wiki's own estimate is that 100% takes 14 full spawns plus two capsules or one encounter for an ordinary Toon, and 7 encounters plus a capsule with Rodger. The same arithmetic gives 50% in 8 spawns for most players (seven spawns reach only 49%) and 4 for Rodger. For a Rare Twisted, a spawn is not guaranteed on any given floor, so those counts are spawns, not floors.
Rodger is the Toon built for research farming. He costs 1,000 Ichor and needs 50% research on any Twisted, and the Research page recommends him for farming because he is the only Toon that speeds research up.
Two details help. First, the Daily Twisted Board makes one Twisted more likely to spawn for 24 hours, resetting at 12:00 AM GMT. The board picks from Uncommon, Rare and Main Twisteds with equal odds for each rarity. Second, when a Toon of the Week is running, the board is overridden for about the first two days and the featured Twisted is guaranteed. Both are described on the wiki's Daily Twisted Board page.
Some Twisteds behave oddly. Twisted Rodger appears as a fake capsule and attacks whoever picks it up. Twisted Blot is the only Twisted you don't research by standing near, since the research comes from his summoned hands. Twisted Razzle & Dazzle and Twisted Rodger must be awake and see you. These are all from the wiki's Research page.
Mastery gates: which Toon unlocks which
Each Toon has six Mastery quests, and the wiki says "all" means all six. Here are the Toons that act as gates, with their six quests. The first column is the Toon you need to finish before another opens.
| Gate Toon | Opens | The six Mastery quests |
|---|---|---|
| Toodles | Pebble | Use Beginner's Luck 75 times; pick up 35 items; travel 52,500 meters; finish 30 Machines; survive 30 floors; use 35 items |
| Tisha | Shelly | Use Tidy Up! 30 times; pick up 30 items; survive 5 floors with 3 other players; finish 30 Machines; survive 25 floors; travel 50,000 meters |
| Cosmo | Sprout | Use Sharing is Caring 25 times; survive 30 floors; travel 60,000 meters; pick up 35 items; survive 5 floors with 3 other players; use 35 items |
| Brightney | Vee | Use Night Light 50 times; finish 50 Machines; travel 80,000 meters; experience 15 Blackouts; pick up 60 items; use 60 items |
| Poppy | Looey | Finish 30 Machines; pick up 30 items; travel 50,000 meters; activate Panic Pop 30 times; survive 25 floors; use 30 items |
| Looey and Yatta | Blot | Looey: finish 30 Machines; pick up 50 Research Capsules; survive 30 floors; activate his passive 30 times; pick up 45 items; travel 80,000 meters. Yatta: finish 85 Machines; pick up 120 items; travel 45,000 meters; pick up 50 Research Capsules; survive 20 floors with Looey in the round; use 120 items |
| Scraps (3 quests) | Goob | Use Crafty Grapple 100 times; encounter 25 Twisteds; travel 85,000 meters; buy 12 items from Dandy's Elevator Shop; pick up 60 items; use 60 items |
| Goob (3 quests) | Waxwell | Use Hug! 100 times; survive 3 floors with 4 other players; travel 100,000 meters; pick up 80 items; survive 25 floors with Scraps in your round; use 80 items |
Two of those gates only ask for three quests, not all six: Goob needs three Scraps quests and Waxwell needs three Goob quests. The wiki's Waxwell page advises choosing the easiest three, since only half the total is required.
Main Characters: the expensive ones
Main Characters have a rainbow border in the store. To buy one, the wiki's Main Character page says you need 100% research on its Twisted, a lot of Ichor and full Mastery on another Toon, except for Astro. All five year-round Mains follow that pattern:
| Main Character | Ichor | Research on the Twisted | Gate Toon or condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pebble | 3,750 | 100% on Twisted Pebble (Main) | Complete all Mastery Quests on Toodles |
| Shelly | 4,250 | 100% on Twisted Shelly (Main) | Complete all Mastery Quests on Tisha |
| Sprout | 4,500 | 100% on Twisted Sprout (Main) | Complete all Mastery Quests on Cosmo |
| Vee | 4,500 | 100% on Twisted Vee (Main) | Complete all Mastery Quests on Brightney |
| Astro | 5,000 | 100% on Twisted Astro (Main) | Encounter Twisted Dandy |
The Ichor totals add up quickly. The five Mains cost 22,000 Ichor between them, and their four gate Toons (Toodles, Tisha, Cosmo and Brightney) add another 3,100, so a full Main collection costs about 25,100 Ichor before you count the other Toons you buy along the way. Every Main Twisted is the Main rarity, which starts with a spawn weight of 0 and, from floor 5, gains 4 weight every 5 floors. In practice you meet them deep in a run, and the Twisteds page says a Main Character Twisted is forced once every 20 floors. That is why Main research is slow, and why Mains are the status symbol the wiki says they are.
Astro: the one that needs a Lethal Twisted
Astro is the most expensive Toon at 5,000 Ichor and asks you to encounter Twisted Dandy, a Lethal Twisted. Twisted Dandy does not spawn by chance. According to the wiki, nobody on the team may buy anything from Dandy's Shop in the elevator for three floors in a row. After that third skip, he has a 20% chance of spawning, and the chance goes up with each further skip. After five consecutive skips past that point his spawn is guaranteed. The TV in the elevator flashes Dandy's logo when he can spawn. Lethal Twisteds kill any Toon in one hit regardless of Health, and the wiki advises making sure everyone in the team agrees to skip the shop first.
Event Toons: Halloween, Christmas and Easter
Event Toons are sold only while their evento is running. After the evento you keep any Toon you bought, but nobody can buy a new one until that evento returns. Each event has the same shape: one event Main that costs 3,000 of the evento currency plus 2,500 Ichor and 100% research, and three cheaper Toons.
The Halloween event runs from octubre 2 to noviembre 6, 2026, so these four can be bought until then. Pumpkins left over after the evento vanish.
| Toon | Pumpkins | Ichor | Other requirements | Counterpart Twisted rarity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gourdy | 3,000 | 2,500 | 100% Research on Twisted Gourdy | Main |
| Eclipse | 1,500 | None | Own 5 or more Toons | Rare |
| Soulvester | 700 | None | 50% Research on Twisted Soulvester | Uncommon |
| Ribecca | 300 | None | None | Common |
The Christmas and Easter Toons are listed for reference. Their events aren't running at the moment, and the Halloween event page names the 2026 Christmas event as the likely next one, without a date.
Christmas Toons, paid in Ornaments:
| Toon | Ornaments | Ichor | Other requirements | Counterpart Twisted rarity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bobette | 3,000 | 2,500 | 100% Research on Twisted Bobette | Main |
| Coal | 1,500 | None | Own 15 or more Trinkets | Rare |
| Ginger | 700 | None | 50% Research on Twisted Ginger | Uncommon |
| Rudie | 300 | None | None | Common |
Easter Toons, paid in Baskets:
| Toon | Baskets | Ichor | Other requirements | Counterpart Twisted rarity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bassie | 3,000 | 2,500 | 100% Research on Twisted Bassie | Main |
| Cocoa | 1,500 | None | 100% Research on 5 Twisteds | Rare |
| Flyte | 700 | None | 50% Research on Twisted Flyte | Uncommon |
| Eggson | 300 | None | None | Common |
Each event's price list adds up to 5,500 of its currency across the four Toons (3,000 + 1,500 + 700 + 300). The three event Mains also need 2,500 Ichor each. For the Halloween details, including how to earn Pumpkins, see the Halloween event guía.
Two requirements here deserve a note. Coal needs you to own 15 trinkets, which is a long-term goal; and Cocoa wants 100% research on five different Twisteds, so it rewards players who have already researched widely.
The hardest unlocks, in more detail
Waxwell
Waxwell costs 3,500 Ichor, needs 50% research on a Rare Twisted and three Mastery quests on Goob. Goob needs three quests on Scraps, and Scraps needs 50% research on Twisted Goob. Walk the chain from the start and the Ichor adds up to 6,750 (1,500 for Scraps, 1,750 for Goob and 3,500 for Waxwell), plus two research targets and six Mastery quests. The Waxwell guide goes through the chain.
Blot
Blot costs 3,000 Ichor and needs every Mastery quest on both Looey and Yatta. Looey needs Poppy's quests, and Yatta needs 15 owned Toons. The Ichor page's trivia says the minimum cost to reach Blot is 16,450 Ichor, which is the highest minimum on the list. That figure is the wiki's, and it depends on how the 15 owned Toons are counted, so use it as a ballpark.
Squirm
Squirm costs 3,000 Ichor, needs 50% research on a Rare Twisted and three Titles. The actualización that added Squirm on febrero 27, 2026 (Alpha 0.16.1) is titled "Squirm & Achievements Minor Update" and added a batch of medals and titles, including Speed Walker, Machine Enthusiast and Item Finder.
Gigi and Glisten
Gigi needs 2,000 Ichor, 50% research on Twisted Gigi and 45 pickups of Rare or higher items. Glisten needs 2,500 Ichor, 50% research on Twisted Glisten and 300 finished Machines. At 5 Ichor per Machine, finishing 300 of them alone pays 1,500 Ichor, so a player who reaches that goal has usually covered most of the price already.
Toons you can't unlock: Dandy and Dyle
Dandy and Dyle are the two developer Toons. The wiki lists their requirement as "Only playable to developers." Each has five stars in all five estadísticas, 25 stars in total against 15 for a normal Toon. The Main Character page adds that both can be played in Roleplay mode, which is separate from regular matches.
What it all costs
Adding up the listed prices gives these totals. This is plain arithmetic on the numbers above, not a figure from the wiki.
- Year-round regular Toons: 32,850 Ichor, counting the second starter at 100 Ichor.
- The five year-round Mains: 22,000 Ichor.
- The three event Mains: 7,500 Ichor, plus their evento currency.
- Evento currency for each of the three eventos: 5,500.
That is 62,350 Ichor for all 40 Toons, plus the three evento currencies. Most players never get close to owning everything, so the useful question is which Toon to buy next. The tier list ranks all 40 by estadísticas, and the Toons database has each Toon's page.
