Dandy's World Twisteds: all 42 at a glance
The Dandy's World Wiki lists 42 Twisteds as of Alpha 0.29.10 (octubre 23, 2026): 11 Common, 10 Uncommon, 11 Rare, 8 Main and 2 Lethal. Twelve of them are holiday Twisteds, so a normal run draws from 30. The Halloween event that started on octubre 2 adds four more (Ribecca, Soulvester, Eclipse and Gourdy), which makes 34 that can spawn today. The Easter and Christmas ones stay out of the pool until those eventos come back.
Every Twisted is a corrupted copy of a playable Toon. The ability tells you how much trouble it is: Commons mostly have none, Rares can hurt you directly, Mains change how a whole floor plays, and the two Lethals kill in one hit. Chase speeds run from 14 (Twisted Ginger) to 26 (Twisted Gourdy once enraged), with one exception: Twisted Dyle's chase speed grows from 16 to a maximum of 40 as his meter fills.
A note on sourcing before the numbers. Everything here is copied from the wiki's Twisted pages and infoboxes, nothing comes from in-game runs, and where two wiki pages disagree this guía says so. The same data powers the Twisteds database, which has one page per entry.
How Twisteds spawn: count, rarity weights and forced spawns
Each floor starts with a base of two Twisteds. The number grows with the floor and with how many players are in the elevator when the room is generated, and it tops out at 8. Solo players cap at 6 (the 6-for-solo rule arrived in 0.15.19, and the general cap went from 6 to 8 in 0.15.1, the same patch that stopped duplicate Twisteds from appearing).
Rarity is a weighted draw. At the start of a run the weights are Common 75, Uncommon 25, Rare 10 and Main 0, a total of 110. That works out to about 68.2 percent Common, 22.7 percent Uncommon and 9.1 percent Rare for a single Twisted slot on an early floor. From floor 5, Rare gains 1 weight every 2 floors and Main gains 4 every 5 floors. A Main is forced once every 20 floors and a Rare once every 15. The player count does not change rarity odds, only the number of slots. Patch 0.16.13 reversed an older rule so that Rare chances rise with depth instead of falling.
Two Twisteds do not appear by chance at all:
- Twisted Dandy needs you to skip Dandy's shop three times in a row. After the third skip, each further skip adds a spawn weight of 5, and he can show up from floor 6. Buying from the shop resets it.
- Twisted Dyle only appears on Dyle's Floor, which you reach by voting the TIME'S UP card on an odd floor from 9. If every other card has been used up, that card is the only one left around floors 43 to 45.
The Daily Twisted Board picks one random Twisted at 12am GMT and makes it more likely for the next 24 hours. It can never be a Common or a Lethal, and it can be a holiday Twisted if that evento is live. Useful when you need research on one specific Twisted, a nuisance when the pick is dangerous.
All 42 Twisteds: speed, attention span and detection range
How to read the columns. Walk is the speed while roaming and chase is the speed when it has seen you. Attention span is how long it keeps chasing after you leave its line of sight. The three detection numbers are circular vision (a circle around its body), direct vision (the cone in front of it) and the hearing radius, which is read here as the range at which a failed Skill Check alerts it. Four Twisteds (Blot, Razzle & Dazzle, Rodger and Squirm) have no walk or chase speed because they do not roam.

Gourdy's and Glisten's figures are for when they are enraged (the Twisteds page gives Glisten a walk speed of 6 while he is calm). Coal's Blackout numbers are in brackets because in the dark she gets faster, sees farther and loses interest sooner. Waxwell has three speeds on his own page: 8 with his flame out, 18 with it lit and 20 while it is going out.
The fastest Twisteds, and which Toons can outrun them
By the infobox figures the ranking of fixed speeds is Gourdy at 26 (enraged), Bobette at 25 (Coal also reaches 25 in Blackouts), Pebble and Glisten at 24, Cocoa at 21, and then Toodles and Shelly at 20. Dyle is left out because his speed depends on his meter. Pebble was nerfed from 25 to 24 in 0.15.19, so older guías that call him the fastest non-Lethal Twisted are out of date. The prose on the main Twisteds page still describes the old order, which is one of the places where the wiki disagrees with its own infoboxes.
Toon running speed goes from 20 at 1 star of Movement Speed to 30 at 5 stars. The Statistics page gives the table: 20, 22.5, 25, 27.5 and 30, which is 2.5 more per star. As a check on it, a 2-star Toon sprinting with the Pink Bow trinket (+7.5 percent run speed) reaches about 24.2, only about 0.2 faster than Pebble (a deduction from those two figures, not a wiki statement). On that basis:
| Movement Speed | Run speed | Against the fast Twisteds |
|---|---|---|
| 1 star | 20 | Level with Toodles and Shelly, slower than everything above them |
| 2 stars | 22.5 | Beats Cocoa, loses to Pebble, Glisten, Bobette and Gourdy unless boosted (Pink Bow barely flips Pebble) |
| 3 stars | 25 | Beats Pebble and Glisten by 1, level with Bobette, loses to enraged Gourdy |
| 4 stars | 27.5 | Beats all of them, including enraged Gourdy |
| 5 stars | 30 | Beats all of them with room to spare |
Running drains Stamina, and the wiki puts that at 10 per second, so a 1-star Stamina pool (100) is ten seconds of sprinting and a 5-star pool (200) is twenty. It also notes that drain and regeneration figures differ between pages. The practical reading is that slow Toons should not accept a chase from the top five, and fast Toons still need cover because the stamina runs out before the Twisted gives up.
What each rarity does
Common (11). Nine of the eleven have no ability: Boxten, Cosmo, Looey, Poppy, Shrimpo, Yatta and the holiday trio Rudie, Eggson and Ribecca (Rudie has a glowing nose that shows where he is). Shrimpo is the slowest at 16.5 but has a 2-second attention span against the usual 1.5, and Yatta is the fastest Common at 19 chase with the slowest walk of any Twisted, 7. The two with abilities are Tisha and Brusha. Tisha sweeps and idles for about 10 seconds at a time, grows Ichor puddles and cleans graffiti off Machines. Brusha paints Machines, and a painted Machine lowers Skill Check chance by 15 percent according to the Twisted page. The 0.26.1 changelog says 25 percent, so treat the figure as unsettled.
Uncommon (10). Brightney rerolls the Blackout chance on a floor where none has happened (a success delays the Blackout and plays a switch sound before the lights go), glows red and is easy to spot. Connie floats around invisible, possesses a Machine (its red light turns blue and it rattles when she is about to leave) and attacks anyone who extracts from it. Finn leaves Ichor puddles, and the third one hides Twisted Barnaby, who latches onto you for 10, 15 or 20 seconds depending on player count while Finn chases you regardless of sight. Razzle & Dazzle sit idle inside a dark red ribbon circle, wake up if you run inside it, and then stab for one heart if they have line of sight. Rodger poses as a fake Research Capsule and applies Slow III and Confused III when opened. Teagan steals 20 percent of your Tapes on a hit. Toodles has no ability but chases at 20 with a 1-second attention span. Of the holiday three, Ginger is the slowest Twisted in the game (14 chase) with a 10-second attention span, Flyte roams non-stop, and Soulvester guards Machines for 10 seconds and camps them.
Rare (11). Blot is stationary and spawns Ichor arms that hit for one heart when you get close. Flutter roams at nearly her chase speed (18 / 18.5) and never idles. Gigi keeps a stash of items and steals from your inventory, first slot to last. Glisten has a loneliness meter that fills when no Toon stays near him, and once it is full he stays enraged for good. Goob pulls Toons toward him from range, Scraps hits from range with her tail, and Squirm hangs from the ceiling and grabs, starting a click-side-to-side escape. Waxwell cannot hurt Toons, but his flame trail gives other Twisteds the Ignited buff for 30 seconds, which widens their vision and shortens their attack cooldown; it buffs them, it does not burn them. He runs away from Toons, and a Toon who stays near him for a while puts his flame out, which ends the trail. His infobox lists 8 with the flame out, 18 lit and 20 while it goes out, so he is ordinary-fast while lit and slow once extinguished. The prose on the main Twisteds page still says that extinguishing him makes him faster, which contradicts his own page, so this guía follows the infobox. The holiday Rares are Coal (in Blackouts her chase speed goes from 16 to 25 and her detection range grows, but her attention span drops from 5 s to 3 s), Cocoa (hops over obstacles) and Eclipse (howls when she spots you, which attracts every Twisted that is not already busy).
Main (8). Astro drains half the progress of a Machine when someone fails a Skill Check and gives Tired III to a Toon he spots. Pebble has no ability and relies on speed (24) and a 125 direct vision. Shelly applies Confused I to everyone on the floor, a 25 percent cut to Extraction Speed. Sprout drops deadly tendrils under Toons he detects on a 10-second cooldown. Vee hears failed Skill Checks from anywhere, applies Slow II for 5 seconds while chasing and sends pop-up ads every 45 seconds. The holiday Mains are Bassie (flowers and vines that slow you), Bobette (hears anyone pick up an Item) and Gourdy (stationary until his meter fills, and gifting him Items drains it).
Lethal (2). Dandy and Dyle kill in one hit no matter your hearts or trinkets. Dandy charges at any Machine that gets completed and has a 5-second attention span. Dyle speeds up the longer he chases or watches you. A failed Skill Check, an alert or an Air Horn anywhere on his floor sends him toward it and, on his own page, jumps his meter to halfway (the main Twisteds page says a failed Skill Check fills it instantly, so the two pages disagree).
How to avoid Twisteds, according to the wiki
These come from the wiki's behavior and strategy text, not from in-game testing.
- Break line of sight with something solid. Machines do not block sight. Walls and other obstacles do. A chase ends when you stay out of view long enough, outrun the cone, or get hit. The elevator counts as out of sight.
- Keep stamina in reserve. The wiki suggests holding 40 to 70 against a Common like Boxten, 30 to 60 against slow Shrimpo (loop him around cover), and about 90 against Toodles. In Blackouts it recommends 70 to 90.
- Know what a failed Skill Check does. Nearby roaming Twisteds run to the Machine. Vee, Astro, Dandy and Dyle come from anywhere on the floor. The Mime Makeup trinket removes the alert.
- Remember who they pick. Among Toons in sight, a Twisted goes for the lowest Stealth first, even if that Toon is farther away. A 1-star Stealth teammate will pull a Twisted off a 2-star one.
- Use the pause after a hit. A Twisted that lands a hit stops for about 3 seconds (2 for most Mains, 6 for Bobette on the Twisteds page and 5 in her own estadísticas, and 3 more with the Blushy Bat trinket). Other Twisteds get a short grace period too, which is why the wiki says letting a lesser Twisted hit you can buy time against a Lethal.
- Learn the traps. Rodger's fake capsule has no film strips around the middle. Razzle & Dazzle's circle only wakes them if you run inside it. A possessed Machine shows a Y-shaped handle or a blue light, so wait out Connie. Look at the ceiling for Squirm. Stay away from Blot's arms.
- Cut sight lines against ranged Twisteds. Goob, Scraps and Gigi need line of sight, and the Spotted Visualizer accessibility setting shows a yellow triangle for them and a red fan for Lethals.
- Plan for Panic Mode. Glisten and Gourdy enrage the moment it starts.
- Listen. Every Main Twisted has its own footsteps and ambient sound, which get louder as it gets closer and work even in Blackouts. Dandy plays a distorted music box tune and stomps, and Dyle ticks faster as his meter fills, so both give away their position.
Research and the trinket you get at 100 percent
Every Twisted has a research bar. Each Research Capsule gives 1 percent (2 for Rodger) and two capsules spawn per Twisted on a floor. Encountering a Twisted gives 5 percent (10 for Rodger) once per floor, and you do not have to take damage for it to count. Blot only counts if you go near his arms, and dying to a Twisted does not affect research. At 1 percent you see its picture and rarity, at 50 percent its description, and at 100 percent you can claim its trinket for free.
The wiki's own arithmetic: a normal Toon gets at most 7 percent per floor (two capsules plus an encounter), so a full bar takes 14 full appearances plus one more capsule or encounter. As Rodger it is 14 percent per floor, which is 7 appearances plus one more capsule. The last column of the table above is the full list of rewards. For which of those trinkets are worth the grind, see best trinkets in Dandy's World and the trinkets database.
