About Lockdown

Mistimed steals hurt less with Lockdown. It shortens your normal steal cooldown and gives a small speed boost whenever you are close to an enemy holding the ball, which the game signals by your character holding out both hands. The wiki says this also stops the old trick of baiting a steal before shooting.

It arrived with the Playmaker style in the update of 28 March 2025. Lockdown is one of two Epic zones, and normal spins at $2,000 cash each hit the Epic tier 35% of the time, so with the tier split in half you get it roughly once every six spins.

The odd part is the pairing. Its personalized style is Playmaker, an Epic Point Guard built around Nutmeg, Alley Oop and Push Off to create offense for teammates, while the zone itself is purely defensive. The wiki points out a different strength: because steal movement does not depend on walk speed, Lockdown helps when you are slowed down by something like Popstar's Soul Strings or Luka Donฤiฤ‡'s Luka Illusion. It recommends Defensive styles above all.
