Shrimpanzee guide
Octophant Hunt is the event where Shrimpanzee shows up, a Limited fish baited with Phantom Leech. It bites in Foggy weather in Spring, at any time of day. There is no flavour text on file, so the numbers carry the entry.
It weighs 20 to 105 kg with a 35 kg average, and the maximum ranks 277th of 663. The price is a low C$5 per kg, so an average catch sells for C$175, 511th of the 742 documented fish. What it does well is XP: 1,150 base XP, a lot for something that pays that little.
Flamangler, Octophant, Orcanda, Royal Tigerfish and Slurpfloth share the Limited tier in the same hunt, so the Shrimpanzee is one of six possible results. Octophant is the one you will probably have in mind for the headline, which makes this fish the easier, cheaper roll in the set.
Verdict: a good XP target if you are already in the hunt. Do not sell it expecting a payday; the coins are small and the XP is the real reward. Bring Phantom Leech, wait for fog in Spring, and let the other Limited fish from the hunt fill the rest of your collection.
