The Depths guide
The Depths is the First Sea zone for players ready to chase mythical-tier money. It is obtainable, has neither a crab cage nor a bait crate, and its residents include Aspicientis, Tenebris, Occultus, Nick and The Depths Skin Merchant.
Fifteen fish are documented, and the roster is heavy at the top: 4 Mythical, 3 Legendary, 1 Exotic and 2 Rare, backed by 2 Unusual, 2 Common and 1 Trash. DJ Spinopus (Mythical) averages C$7,500, Ancient Depth Serpent (Exotic) C$6,000, Mutated Shark (Mythical) C$4,575, Barreleye Fish (Mythical) C$3,000 and Sea Snake (Mythical) C$2,000. Even the fifth-best fish here is worth C$2,000.
Two rods are tied to it: the Rod Of The Depths at C$750,000, and Onirifalx, which comes from completing Nick's quest line rather than from a price.
My advice: this is a destination, not a stepping stone. If you have the rod for it, the volume of Mythical fish means a session can pay off quickly. If you are still saving, bank toward the Rod Of The Depths first, because the zone rewards a strong setup.
