The Bear is a Mythic-rarity pet in Grow a Garden 2 with a clearly defined active role: defending your garden from intruders. Unlike most companions that offer passive stat bonuses, the Bear physically tackles anyone who enters your plot uninvited, pins them to the ground, and then hurls them out of the area. This makes it one of the few pets in the game with a true player-interaction ability rather than a flat buff.

To obtain a Bear you need to hatch the Epic Egg. At a hatch rate of 0.225%, success is genuinely unlikely — expect to open several hundred Epic Eggs before one appears. This places the Bear firmly in the collector tier: most players pursue it through trading rather than relying on luck alone.

The Bear exists in three visual variants — Normal, Big, and Huge — all sharing the same defensive ability. The Huge variant is particularly sought after as a prestige piece and commands the highest trade value of the three.

In practice, the Bear's defense mechanic has the most impact in active, populated lobbies where other players genuinely threaten your crops. If you are protecting high-value harvests in a competitive server, the tackle-and-throw behavior can prevent real losses. On quiet or solo servers its utility is mostly cosmetic, though the Mythic rarity and sub-0.3% hatch rate keep its trading value high regardless of playstyle. For anyone building a collection of rare pets, the Bear is one of the most meaningful trophies currently available.
