Grow a Garden 2 Witch's Cauldron Recipes: Every Brew

Guide
By RBLXGUIDESunday, October 11, 20268 min read

Quick Summary

All eight Witch's Cauldron recipes in the Ghoul Garden: ingredients, craft times, fail chances, where Web, Bone and Brain drop and when to use the Cauldron Charm.

The Witch's Cauldron is the most interesting thing to do in the Ghoul Garden, the Halloween version of Grow a Garden 2 that the wiki dates to October 1, 2026. Instead of only buying seeds with Candy Corn, you can hunt monsters, collect spooky ingredients and brew rare seeds, a costume and even a gear item. This guide lists all eight recipes from the wiki, explains where each ingredient comes from and shows which brews are worth the risk.

!The Ghoul Garden map in Grow a Garden 2

Everything below comes from the Grow a Garden 2 Fandom wiki (the Ghoul Garden, Monsters, Cauldron Charm and item pages). Wiki numbers can change when the developers patch the game, so treat chances and times as the latest published values, not promises.

## What is the Witch's Cauldron?

According to the wiki, the Ghoul Garden is not a separate game. It is a special place inside Grow a Garden 2 with its own data, separate from the main Garden Valley, and you enter it through the Explorer Stand, specifically the NPC named Ethan. The map looks almost like Garden Valley but with a Halloween theme.

On that map there is a cauldron where you can brew items from recipes. These are the rules the wiki lists:

- You can only brew at night.
- Of the 8 possible recipes, only 3 are shown at a time, and the selection refreshes every 30 minutes.
- If a brew fails, the ingredients are still used up.
- After a failure there is a 10-second window where you can use a Cauldron Charm to rescue the brew.

That last point matters a lot for the expensive recipes, because several of them have a high chance to fail.

## The three ingredients

Every recipe uses some mix of Web, Bone, Brain and Pumpkin Guts. Three of them drop from monsters. The wiki says a monster spawns every 1 to 4 minutes, up to 4 can be alive at the same time, and they chase nearby players. You defeat them with the Shovel.

| Ingredient | Where it comes from | Drop chance |
|---|---|---|
| Web | Giant Spider | 55% |
| Bone | Skeleton | 55% |
| Brain | Zombie | 45% |
| Pumpkin Guts | Pumpkin Smash | 55% |

!Web, Bone and Brain ingredients

Here are the monsters themselves, with the stats from the wiki's Monsters page:

| Monster | Spawn chance | Health | Damage | Drop |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Giant Spider | 40% | 2 hits | 10 | Web |
| Skeleton | 40% | 3 hits | 15 | Bone |
| Zombie | 20% | 5 hits | 25 | Brain |

!A Giant Spider monster

The Zombie is the toughest and the rarest, and Brain is the ingredient with the lowest drop chance. Notice that this is exactly why the rarest seed recipes ask for lots of Brain.

### Pumpkin Smash

Pumpkin Guts do not come from a monster. The wiki says that every 25 seconds, 2 pumpkins per player can appear around the map for you to smash. A smashed pumpkin can give:

| Reward | Chance |
|---|---|
| Pumpkin Guts | 55% |
| 300 Candy Corn | 12.5% |
| Carrot Seed | 5% |
| Strawberry Seed | 4.375% |
| Blueberry Seed | 3.125% |

## All eight cauldron recipes

This table puts the wiki's recipes in one place. Craft time is how long the brew takes, and the fail chance is the risk that you lose the ingredients.

| Item | Recipe | Craft time | Fail chance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spirethorn Seed | 2 Web, 1 Pumpkin Guts | 5 minutes | 5% |
| Witch Hat Costume | 2 Web, 1 Bone, 1 Pumpkin Guts | 6 minutes | 15% |
| The Bone | 2 Brain, 2 Bone, 1 Web | 7 minutes | 30% |
| Witch's Broom | 2 Brain, 2 Web, 1 Bone | 7 minutes | 30% |
| Dead Oak Seed | 3 Brain, 2 Bone, 1 Web | 8 minutes | 40% |
| Night Shade Seed | 4 Brain, 2 Bone, 1 Web | 9 minutes | 55% |
| Halloween Pack | 4 Brain, 3 Bone, 1 Pumpkin Guts | 10 minutes | 70% |
| Briar Rose Seed | 4 Brain, 3 Bone, 1 Web | 10 minutes | 70% |

A note on honesty: the wiki's Briar Rose page says that crop is unreleased and cannot be obtained through normal gameplay, even though the Ghoul Garden page lists a recipe for it. Because those two pages disagree, we would not plan around Briar Rose until the wiki clears it up.

## Which brews are worth it?

You can think about each recipe as a trade between cost, time and risk. These are our own reading of the wiki numbers, not tested results.

### Safe and cheap: Spirethorn Seed

Spirethorn needs only Web and Pumpkin Guts, which means you do not need to fight the tougher Skeleton or Zombie. It takes 5 minutes and fails only 5% of the time. The wiki lists the Spirethorn as a rare multi-harvest crop, so it is a friendly first brew while you learn how the cauldron works.

### Cosmetic: Witch Hat Costume

The Witch Hat Costume is a gear that lets you put a costume on a pet permanently, according to the wiki. It fails 15% of the time and needs a Bone, so it is a nice choice if you care about how your pet looks. See the Witch Hat Costume page for the shop version.

### Mid risk: The Bone and Witch's Broom

Both cost 2 Brain and take 7 minutes, with a 30% fail chance. The Bone lets you become a Werewolf for 30 seconds and steal from anyone. The Witch's Broom lets you ride a flying broom for 30 seconds, with a 60-second cooldown after use. You can also buy these two in the Gear Shop with Candy Corn (300,000 and 3,000,000 respectively), so the cauldron is a way to skip the Candy Corn price if you have the materials. Read the full item pages for The Bone and Witch's Broom.

### High risk: Dead Oak, Night Shade and the Halloween Pack

Dead Oak (40% fail) and Night Shade (55% fail) are legendary multi-harvest crops. The Halloween Pack (70% fail) is a seed pack that the wiki says is otherwise sold only for Robux. Its odds are 60% Spirethorn, 30% Dead Oak, 9.5% Night Shade and 0.5% Candied Cornflower. Look at the crops on their pages: Dead Oak and Night Shade.

A 70% fail chance means that on average you lose the ingredients on most attempts. Since the failed brew still eats Brain and Bone, the Halloween Pack is mostly for players who farm monsters a lot.

## What a fail chance means in practice

A fail chance tells you how many tries you need on average. If a recipe fails 70% of the time, it only succeeds 30% of the time, so you need about 3.3 attempts for each success. This table turns the wiki's fail chances into the average number of ingredients you spend for one finished item. It is simple arithmetic on the published numbers, not a test result.

| Recipe | Ingredients per try | Fail chance | Average tries per success | Average ingredients per success |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Spirethorn Seed | 3 | 5% | 1.05 | about 3 |
| Witch Hat Costume | 4 | 15% | 1.18 | about 5 |
| The Bone or Witch's Broom | 5 | 30% | 1.43 | about 7 |
| Dead Oak Seed | 6 | 40% | 1.67 | 10 |
| Night Shade Seed | 7 | 55% | 2.22 | about 16 |
| Halloween Pack | 8 | 70% | 3.33 | about 27 |

Seen this way, the Halloween Pack costs roughly nine times the ingredients of a Spirethorn Seed, and it only gives a 0.5% chance at the mythic flower. That is why we call the high-fail recipes a choice for players who farm monsters a lot.

## The Cauldron Charm: your safety net

The Cauldron Charm is a mythic gear that rescues a failed brew at the Witch's Cauldron. The wiki lists it at 10,000,000 Candy Corn with a 0.56% chance of being stocked in the Gear Shop, and it is used up when you use it. That makes it very expensive and hard to find, so it only makes sense if you are about to lose a really valuable brew such as a 70% recipe. Details are on the Cauldron Charm page.

## A simple plan for a night session

1. Enter the Ghoul Garden through Ethan at the Explorer Stand.
2. Wait for night, because brewing is only possible then.
3. Look at the 3 recipes on offer. They refresh every 30 minutes, so if none is useful you can come back to check again.
4. Hunt Giant Spiders first. Web is in almost every recipe.
5. Smash pumpkins whenever they appear. They also give Candy Corn and seeds.
6. Save Brain for the recipe you actually want, since Zombies are the rarest spawn.

## Quick questions

Can I brew during the day? The wiki says you can only brew at night.

Do I lose ingredients if the brew fails? Yes. The wiki says they are still consumed unless you rescue the brew with a Cauldron Charm.

How long does the Ghoul Garden last? The wiki leaves this as a question mark, so there is no confirmed number. Do not wait if you want the items.
