Best Crops in Grow a Garden 2: Prices, Values and Stock Odds

Guide
By RBLXGUIDEWednesday, June 17, 20267 min read

Quick Summary

Every purchasable Grow a Garden 2 seed with its price, listed fruit value, how many picks repay it, and how long its stock odds make you wait, ranked by what the numbers show.

Choosing a crop in Grow a Garden 2 comes down to four numbers: what the seed costs, what a fruit sells for, whether the plant can be picked more than once, and how often the Seed Shop actually stocks it. The wiki publishes the first, second and fourth for every seed, and flags the third. It does not publish growth times or the number of fruit each plant makes, so any "income per hour" tier list is guesswork. This guide ranks crops using only the numbers that exist and says where the data stops.

How to read the table

  • Listed value is the wiki's average sell value for one fruit before size, mutation and friend bonuses.
  • Picks to repay is the seed price divided by that value. Single-harvest crops are one pick by definition; a figure below 1 means a single fruit already covers the seed.
  • Stock chance is the Seed Shop restock chance. The shop rolls roughly every five minutes, so the average wait for a seed with chance p is 1 divided by p restocks.

Carrot, Strawberry, Blueberry and Tulip have a 100% stock chance. Anything can also be bought directly with Robux when it is out of stock.

What the numbers say

Single-harvest crops repay themselves at once. Carrot, Tulip and Bamboo each return more than their seed cost on the first pick. The wiki calls Bamboo "one of the best ways to grind money in early gameplay", and it stocks in clusters of 7 to 11 seeds with an 80% chance. The cost is replanting every time.

Multi-harvest crops pay slowly per fruit. Apple needs 33 picks to repay its 400 Sheckles at the listed value, Corn needs 74. They only make sense when each plant yields many fruit, a number the wiki does not give, so the early game is a trade between replanting effort and passive income.

Mushroom is not the bargain it looks like. Its listed value of 13,000 is close to the 15,000 seed price. The Mushroom page states that Mushrooms sell for half of their calculated price, so if the listed value is the pre-multiplier figure, one Mushroom may not repay its seed.

Rarity does not mean value. Dragon Fruit (120,000 Sheckles) repays itself in 800 picks, far better than Cherry (3,429) or Acorn (3,500). Venus Fly Trap (7,000,000 Sheckles) needs 2,333, ahead of Sunflower (2,857) and every Mythic or Super seed. Dragon's Breath and Star Fruit take 66,176 and 52,500 picks. Their value is in what they do, not what they sell for: Star Fruit applies the 100x Glow mutation to random plants in the garden.

Size and mutations change the picture

The listed values assume an average fruit. The Mechanics page shows the real formula: base value, times size factor, times mutation, with decay and friend bonuses on top. The size factor rises with the size raised to about the power 2.5 up to a size of 5, then grows more slowly. A size-3 fruit is worth about 15.6 times a size-1 fruit, and a size-5 fruit about 56 times. Sprinklers raise the chance of larger sizes, and the gear guide has their luck values.

Friends in the server add +10% each to the sell price, up to +70% with seven friends. Multi-harvest crops keep the full mutation multiplier; single-harvest crops only get 15% of the bonus, as the mutations guide explains.

How long the rare seeds take to show up

At five minutes per restock, the average wait for a seed to appear in the shop is:

SeedChanceAverage wait
Cherry2.27%about 3.7 hours
Venus Fly Trap1.43%about 5.8 hours
Pomegranate0.93%about 9 hours
Venom Spitter0.475%about 17.5 hours
Moon Bloom0.35%about 24 hours
Hypno Bloom0.275%about 30 hours
Dragon's Breath0.2%about 42 hours
Sun Bloom0.125%about 67 hours
Star Fruit0.12%about 69 hours

These are averages across independent rolls, so a seed can appear twice in an hour or vanish for days. Super seeds are therefore the ones most often bought with Robux (1,499 to 1,899 Robux for the five listed).

A sensible planting path

  1. 1Plant Carrot and Strawberry on day one. Both are always in stock.
  2. 2Move to Bamboo as soon as 700 Sheckles are available, buying the whole cluster.
  3. 3Add Apple and Corn for multi-harvest income, and buy a Common Watering Can.
  4. 4Buy Mushroom and Grape only with spare Sheckles, because their payback is slow or uncertain.
  5. 5Save for Cherry or Venus Fly Trap, whichever appears first; both are multi-harvest and carry full mutation bonuses.
  6. 6Treat Moon Bloom, Sun Bloom, Hypno Bloom, Dragon's Breath and Star Fruit as late-game goals.

Event crops

The Ghoul Garden sells Spirit versions of the basic crops (same stats) for Candy Corn, plus the Great Pumpkin (listed value 14,000, 150,000,000 Candy Corn, 0.2% stock) and Vampire Bloom (4,000, 150,000,000 Candy Corn). Cauldron seeds such as Night Shade are crafted rather than bought. The Fall Harvest crops, including the Maple versions and the Atlantic Giant Pumpkin (listed value 300,000), are marked not obtainable.

Common mistakes

  • Buying the most expensive seed first. A 225,000,000 Sheckle seed does not repay itself quickly at its listed value.
  • Ignoring stock odds. A seed that appears once a day cannot be farmed at scale.
  • Treating multi-harvest as always better. Early Bamboo repays its cost on a single pick.
  • Filling plots with single-harvest crops for mutation hunts. They only get 15% of the bonus.

FAQ

What is the best crop in Grow a Garden 2 for beginners?

Carrot at 1 Sheckle and Strawberry at 10 are always in stock. Bamboo at 700 Sheckles is the best first upgrade by listed value.

What is the most expensive crop in Grow a Garden 2?

Star Fruit at 315,000,000 Sheckles or 1,899 Robux, with a 0.12% restock chance.

Is multi-harvest better than single-harvest?

Not by default. Multi-harvest plants avoid replanting and keep the full mutation multiplier, but single-harvest crops such as Bamboo repay their cost on the first pick.

How often do rare seeds restock?

The Seed Shop restocks every five minutes. Rare seeds have chances between 0.12% and about 2% per restock.

Which crop makes the most money?

The wiki does not publish growth times or fruit per plant, so a definitive answer cannot be calculated. Among purchasable seeds, the Super crops have the highest listed fruit values, from 3,400 to 9,500.
