Crates in Grow a Garden 2 are boxes of cosmetic props. According to the wiki, they exist to decorate a garden and do not give any gameplay advantage, so buying one never makes crops grow faster or sell for more. What they do offer is a long list of rolls with very uneven odds, and the rarest results cost far more than most players expect. This guide lists every crate that can be bought right now, what it can drop, how often it shows up in the shop and the average cost of chasing its top prize.
How crates work
Crates are sold at the Props Shop in the middle of the map, next to the Sell Stand. The shop works like the Seed Shop: stock is shared across all servers, it rotates on a timer of about five minutes, and each crate has its own restock chance and a stock range (how many copies can appear at once). A restock can be forced for 39 Robux. Rarer crates are less likely to be in stock, which matters more than the price for items such as the Teleporter Pad Crate.
Every crate can be paid for with Sheckles or with Robux. Garden Valley crates use Sheckles, the Ghoul Garden crates use Candy Corn, and the Fall Harvest crates used Leaf. Robux prices run from 19 for the Ladder Crate to 499 for the Teleporter Pad Crate, and the wiki lists 1x, 3x and 10x bundles for some of them.
Opened props are placed with the Build tool. Many drop tables are tiers of one object (plain, Gold, Rainbow, Big or Mega), so the top prize is usually a fancier version of the most common item.

Crates that can no longer be bought
The wiki flags several crates as not obtainable:
- Fall Harvest crates: Lantern, Fall Cosmetic, Cobblestone, Fall Structure and Rake crates were sold for Leaf in the Fall Harvest world.
- Guild Crates: seven tiers (Common to Super) are listed with their loot pools, but their price and restock data are marked "TBA" and the wiki marks them not obtainable. Older guides that treat them as a shop item are out of date. Guild rewards now arrive through the weekly competition instead.
- Sugar Crate: it only came from the Muffin Bake Event baker rewards (Oven 49.9%, Wood Table 30%, Chimney 18%, Chocolate Fountain 2%, Muffin Statue 0.1%).
- Weather Machine Crate and Wood Wall Crate: listed as unreleased.
What a top prize really costs
The odds make the average cost easy to estimate. If a prize drops with chance p, the average number of crates needed is 1 divided by p. These are averages only; real runs can be much shorter or much longer.
| Prize | Chance | Crates on average | Sheckles on average |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rainbow Ladder | 10% | 10 | 300,000 |
| Circle Arch | 10% | 10 | 2,000,000 |
| Flower Bench | 5% | 20 | 1,200,000 |
| Star Lights | 7% | 14 | about 1.3 million |
| Water Fountain | 5.26% | 19 | about 5.7 million |
| Big Sign | 1% | 100 | 15,000,000 |
| Rainbow Bear Trap | 2% | 50 | 25,000,000 |
| Rainbow Seesaw | 5% | 20 | 30,000,000 |
| Super Conveyor | 2% | 50 | 35,000,000 |
| White Bridge | 1% | 100 | 70,000,000 |
| Super Spring | 1% | 100 | 90,000,000 |
| Rainbow Owner Door | 1% | 100 | 150,000,000 |
| Huge Teleport Pad | 5% | 20 | 400,000,000 |
| Mega Boombox | 0.1% | 1,000 | 2,000,000,000 |
The cheap crates are the efficient ones. A Ladder or Arch Crate gives a satisfying rare result for a modest bill, while the Bear Trap, Owner Door and Boombox crates cost tens or hundreds of millions for a rare cosmetic.
Common mistakes
- Buying crates for power. Props never raise sell value or growth speed. Gear and seeds do that.
- Chasing the Rainbow Bear Trap for defense. No source lists a gameplay difference between the Rainbow and Common Bear Trap, so treat it as a cosmetic upgrade.
- Ignoring restock chance. A crate with a 3.4% restock chance appears about once every 30 restocks, roughly two and a half hours of five-minute timers, so a plan that depends on one specific crate should allow for that wait.
- Paying Robux for 1x when a bundle exists. The 10x bundles listed on the wiki are priced at ten times the single price, with no discount, so there is nothing to gain by waiting for a bundle.
- Spending Sheckles needed for seeds. Plot expansions and seeds grow income; crates do not.
