Gold Finch

The Gold Finch is a limited Prismatic pet from the Hungry Birds Event, and Prismatic is the top of the color-tier ladder, so this is a genuine prestige pull rather than filler. What surprises people is the rate: it dropped from both the Bird Egg and the Premium Bird Egg at a 5% chance, which is unusually generous for a Prismatic. That dual-source access meant you were not locked into the pricier Premium path to chase it.

The strategic read during the event was simple. The standard Bird Egg gave the cheaper expected cost per Gold Finch, since both eggs share the same 5% rate, so unless you were also hunting something exclusive to the Premium pool, the basic egg was the value play. At 1 in 20, a committed grinder could realistically bank one without relying on a miracle.

My take: as a limited Prismatic now off-rotation, the Gold Finch carries real collector cachet and its trade value reflects the Prismatic tier. If you missed Hungry Birds, expect to pay up; if it ever returns, the cheaper Bird Egg is the smart farm.
