The Rainbow New Year's Bird is the prismatic form of the New Year's Bird, a limited uncommon pet released for the New Year's Event in Grow a Garden. The base bird is fairly approachable to hatch: it comes from the New Year's Egg at 31% and the Premium New Year's Egg at 30%, so roughly one in three hatches on either egg lands you the bird itself — a generous rate for an event uncommon.

The rainbow upgrade, though, is never an egg drop. Like every Rainbow pet it unlocks only by raising the base New Year's Bird to its maximum level, at which point the rainbow recolor activates. So the binding cost is not incubator luck — the ~30% odds make the base bird easy to secure — but the pet-XP grind to fully level it, which is the real time investment here.

Because it is tied to a one-time seasonal event, the Rainbow New Year's Bird is a collector's badge: once the event ends, fresh ones can only come through trades. The smart play during the event is to hatch a New Year's Bird quickly off those high odds, then commit to leveling so the rainbow form is finished before the festivities close.
