About Crops
Crop Crops are one of the main and most important mechanics of the game, serving as the main source of income. They are planted as seeds in a garden, which can be obtained through purchasing at Sam's Seed Shop, opening any Seed Packs or Chests, through Merchants, in Events etc. These seeds then grow into crops of various appearances with different crop types and values. When fully grown, the crop can yield mature produces that can be harvested, or the crop itself can be harvested fully. The harvested produces can be used for exchanging them into by selling them at Steven's Sell Stuff Stand, or for other purposes, like in events and such.

Crops — In-Depth Analysis
Crops are the backbone mechanic of Grow a Garden — not a gear you buy with a flat price, but the primary source of income that everything else exists to amplify. You start them as seeds bought at Sam's Seed Shop, pulled from Seed Packs or Chests, traded from Merchants, or earned in events. Once planted, they grow into produce of varying type, appearance, and value, and at full maturity you either harvest the yield repeatedly or pull the whole crop.
The "is it worth it" calculus here is about which seeds you sink Sheckles into, since selling produce at Steven's Sell Stuff Stand is how you fund every sprinkler, tool, and expansion. Cheap early seeds give fast turnover but thin margins; higher-tier crops cost far more upfront but scale dramatically once mutations and sprinklers multiply their base value.
In progression terms, crops are the one purchase you make constantly from minute one to endgame. Early on, prioritize fast, reliable earners to build a Sheckle cushion. As your income grows, reinvest into expensive high-value seeds, because every multiplier in the game — Choc, frost, mutation gear — keys off the crop's base worth, so an active farm's real ceiling is set by what it grows, not how much gear it owns.
