About Aether
Aether is a Legendary aura from the very start of the game, and its odds have a small piece of history behind them. The Sol's RNG Wiki gives it a base chance of 1 in 180,000 and says it took over the rarity that Comet used to have. It was added in Eon 1 and made by 53_Axis. At luck 1x you would expect about 180,000 rolls, or around 18,000 with 10x luck, and no biome or event is needed.
On screen it is a teal and blue fire that wraps around the player, with a wispy smoke effect, a light-green star resting above the left hand under a layer of dark particles, and a dark aura beneath that fades to teal at the edges. The player bobs slightly above the ground. The opening cutscene is close to Exotic's, a turning star in nearly the same colors that cracks open the screen, and its walking animation is the one Origin uses.
The name comes from the classical fifth element, and its in-game text echoes that idea of an unknown medium for light.
