Backrooms Event — Steal a Brainrot

Live May 9–12, 2026 · Cave opens every 2 hours · Evade Evil Sammy

Reviewed byRBLXGUIDE Editorial Team

The Backrooms Event is a 72-hour limited event in Steal a Brainrot, running from May 9, 2026 (12:00 PM PT) to May 12, 2026 (9:00 AM PT). Every two hours a red-carpet cave entrance opens at base — players step inside, navigate the Backrooms zone while evading Evil Sammy entities, and race back with limited-time Backroom Brainrots before the cave closes. This is only the second cave-entry event in the game's history (after the 1×1×1×1 event), and once May 12 hits, the brainrots are unobtainable forever except via trading.

How to enter the Backrooms cave

When the cave is active you'll see a glowing red-carpet entrance spawn near your base. Walk into it before the timer expires — typically a 5-minute window per 2-hour cycle. The cave is shared per server, so coordinate with your server if it's a private match.

Once inside, the layout shifts every cycle to mirror classic Backrooms 'noclipping' aesthetics: yellow corridors, fluorescent buzzing, no clear map. Carry whatever movement gear you have (Magnet, Lightning Rod, Ghost Cloak) — the deeper you go, the rarer the brainrots, but the more Evil Sammy spawns you'll face.

Evil Sammy mechanic

Evil Sammy is a hostile entity that roams the Backrooms during the event. Touch contact eliminates your current Backroom-pickup attempt and dumps you back at the cave entrance — you do NOT lose your base brainrots, but you lose any uncollected drops from the run.

Sammy patrols deeper sectors more aggressively. If you hear the audio cue (a low rumble + flicker on lights), reverse direction immediately. Players using Ghost Cloak gain a brief invisibility window — the Cloak is the meta gear for this event.

What rewards are inside?

The event drops a wave of Backroom-themed limited brainrots. Names and stats are being confirmed in real-time as players reach deeper sectors — we update this section as drops are verified, with image and income/sec sourced directly from in-game inspection (no third-party scraping).

Historical pattern (1×1×1×1 event, Easter Pt 2): expect 1–2 Secret-tier and 4–6 Mythic/Brainrot God-tier limited entities. After the event ends on May 12, these become trade-only — historically prices spiked 3–5× within the first week post-event.

Strategy: maximize your Backrooms haul

Set a 2-hour alarm starting from your first cave activation — the cycle is consistent, so you can predict every window. Pre-position near base 5 minutes before each window.

Bring Ghost Cloak as primary gear. Save Lucky Blocks for after the event — Backroom Brainrots are NOT in the standard pool, so spinning during the event is wasted economy.

If you're collecting for trade value, prioritize the rarest tiers and ignore commons. Post-event scarcity is what drives value, and commons will flood the market in week one.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the Backrooms Event end in Steal a Brainrot?

The Backrooms Event ends on May 12, 2026 at 9:00 AM Pacific Time (16:00 UTC). After that the cave no longer spawns and Backroom Brainrots become trade-only.

How often does the Backrooms cave open?

Every 2 hours, server-wide. The cave entrance spawns at base for roughly 5 minutes per cycle before disappearing.

What happens if Evil Sammy catches me?

Evil Sammy resets your current run and ejects you back to the cave entrance. You don't lose your base brainrots, but any uncollected Backroom drops from that run are forfeit.

Will Backroom Brainrots be obtainable after May 12?

No — they leave the active drop pool when the event ends. They will only be obtainable via trading from then on, which historically has driven 3–5× price spikes within the first week post-event.

What's the best gear for the Backrooms Event?

Ghost Cloak is the meta because its brief invisibility window neutralizes Evil Sammy. Pair with Magnet for faster pickup or Lightning Rod for movement speed.
