FischFright 3 at a glance
FischFright 3 is Fisch's third Halloween event. The Fisch wiki's FischFright 2026 page says it premiered on outubro 16, 2026 and ends on novembro 8, 2026. We haven't checked either date in the game, so look at the in-game timer before you plan a last-day grind.
This guia is built only from the wiki pages as they stood in late outubro 2026. Most FischFright 3 fish pages are still one-line stubs, and the evento's own page lists its fish as "TBA", so some things below are marked as unconfirmed instead of guessed. We haven't played the evento ourselves: nothing here is "tested", it is what the wiki says.
Four things are documented well enough to plan around:
- Four rods: Doomsekkar Rod, Webweaver Rod, Eldritch Rod and Boglin Branch. The wiki tags the last three as Limited; the Doomsekkar Rod page only says it is unlocked from the evento.
- One companion, the Witch Kitty, bought with Treats.
- Three relics with their own enchants: Doomed, Grim and Vile.
- 28 evento fish pages in the FischFright 3 category, most of them tagged with the bait and conditions they prefer, plus a few bobbers, lanterns and a boat.
## FischFright 3 rods compared
The wiki's rod pages give these numbers. Lure Speed and Resilience are percentages, Control is the bar size, and "inf" means unlimited max weight.
| Rod | Lure Speed | Luck | Control | Resilience | Max kg | How you get it |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Doomsekkar Rod | 100% | 270% | 0.1 | -666% | inf | Doomsekkar's quest (rod listed under Caustic Hallow; Doomsekkar stands next to the graveyard) |
| Webweaver Rod | 125% | 250% | 0.03 | 10% | inf | Webby Winston's quest in the Webridden Cavern |
| Eldritch Rod | 90% | 230% | 0.05 | 15% | inf | Offering ingredients to Beatrix the Witch |
| Boglin Branch | 80% | 180% | 0.05 | 20% | 550,000 | Youngster Goblin's quest (10 Witch Ingredients) |
Read the Resilience column twice. The Doomsekkar Rod's -666% is by far the lowest in this list, and the wiki says its rod page is still missing the chance for its own mutação ("TBA%"). The wiki does not say whether the two are linked.
### Doomsekkar Rod
The wiki describes instant-feeling lure speed (100%), high luck and a decent control bar. Its passive drops bombs onto the fishing bar during the minigame. A bomb explodes when the fish's bar moves onto it and gives 5% progress. If the fish hits 6 bombs in a single minigame, the rod "shrieks", which the wiki says gives 50% progress and a 1.5x weight increase. The rod can apply the Doomsekkar mutation, listed at 8x.
Plan around it: the rod rewards a fish that keeps moving into bombs, so it suits fish that dart around, and it is a poor match for slow fish that sit still. Both of those points about fish movement are our reading of the passive, not something the wiki states.
### Webweaver Rod
You get this one from Webby Winston in the Webridden Cavern. When it's equipped it spawns three spider companions that follow you. Staying in one spot lets the spiders weave a web around your feet, and standing on it gives a 100% chance to catch fish with the Webbed mutation, against 10% otherwise.
A Perfect Cast guarantees the spiders attack. A normal cast leaves it to chance. Each attack bites the fish up to five times, and every bite adds +5% True Progress Speed, up to +25% in total. The spiders can also lay an egg that hatches a fish native to your current location, similar to the Rod of the Depths, or shoot strings that hook roaming fish.
One wiki trivia note: if you try to catch fish at Above the Clouds with the spiders without finishing the gliding challenge, they hatch normal Ocean fish.
### Eldritch Rod
The Eldritch Rod is tied to Beatrix the Witch, who takes ingredients. The wiki lists these abilities: a 40% chance of the Eldritch mutation, an 8% chance to slash, a 15% chance to summon thorns that pin the fish and double progress speed, and a 10% chance to curse the fish, which raises progress speed sharply but ends if the fish leaves the bar for more than 1 second. When the fish stays on your control bar for a short time, thorns pierce it for a large progress speed boost.
### Boglin Branch
A mid-tier rod by the wiki's own words ("needs clarification"). It can apply the Boglin mutation at a 25% chance, and its passive drops a tree trunk onto the control bar, which traps the fish and stops it passing. The quest comes from Youngster Goblin and needs 10 Witch Ingredients.
The wiki's one tip is worth following: don't spend the ingredients you get from Boglins at Beatrix's cauldron. Keep them for Youngster Goblin's quest, which lets you finish it faster.
## Which rod should you chase first?
The wiki doesn't rank these, so this is our reading of the numbers, not a tested verdict.
- If you want the best raw luck, the Doomsekkar Rod has 270% against 250% for the Webweaver Rod. It also has the weakest Resilience by a wide margin, so expect a hard minigame.
- If you want something forgiving, the Webweaver Rod's 10% Resilience and the Eldritch Rod's 15% are the lowest positive values here, and the Webweaver adds up to +25% True Progress Speed, although its Control of 0.03 is the smallest of the four. The Boglin Branch's 20% is the highest of the four.
- If you only want a limited rod for the collection, the Boglin Branch is the weakest on paper (180% luck), and its quest is the only one whose requirement the wiki spells out: 10 Witch Ingredients.
You can chase more than one. The rods come from different NPCs (Doomsekkar, Webby Winston, Beatrix and Youngster Goblin), so you aren't choosing between them at a single stall.
## The Witch Kitty companion
The Witch Kitty is a limited companion that needs 150 Treats and spawns anywhere during FischFright 3. According to the wiki it frequently slashes the fish, giving +3% progress. That is all the page says so far: there is no level scaling or cooldown listed.
If you're not sure how companions work in general (levels up to 10, Companion XP from catches), see our Fisch companions guia.
## Evento relics: Doomed, Grim and Vile
Three event relics were added, each with an enchant that carries its own mutação chance:
| Relic | Enchant effect (wiki) | Bait and condition tags on the wiki |
|---|---|---|
| Doomed Relic | 10% Doomed mutation, rarely slashes the fish with devastating force, -0.15 control | Sour Jelly Candy, Jack-o-Moon, night |
| Grim Relic | 10% chance for the Grim mutation, +15% progress speed, -10% resilience | Black Licorice, Jack-o-Moon, night |
| Vile Relic | 10% chance for the Vile mutation, +10% forced progress speed, -10% fish size | Black Licorice, foggy weather |
The wiki says the Doomed Relic is obtained "from the Witch at stage 4". The Vile Relic page also carries the Secondary Enchant tag, so it should stack with a primary enchant; the other two pages don't say. These pages are stubs, so check them again after a few days. For the general rules of altar enchanting, read our Fisch enchanting guia.
## Evento fish and the bait they prefer
The wiki has not filled in rarity, weight or value for these fish yet. What it does have is tags for the baits, weather and time of day each one prefers. Here they are, grouped by bait.
| Bait | Fish tagged with it | Extra tags |
|---|---|---|
| Black Licorice | Bubblegum Blobfish (windy), Cobweb Cod, Crypt Crab (night), Headless Halibut (night), Jack-o-Angler (night), Tombstone Tuna (clear, day), Candy Corn Pack (clear, day) | Cobweb Cod, Crypt Crab, Jack-o-Angler and Tombstone Tuna also list a second bait (see below) |
| Licorice | Broomstick Bass, Decayed Dace, Haunted Haddock (windy, night), Licorice Lamprey (clear), Mummy Mackerel (clear, day) | Mummy Mackerel also lists Candy Corn Cluster |
| Sour Jelly Candy | Cauldron Catfish (rain), Jawbreaker Jellyfish (clear, night), Doomed Skull (night), Voodoo Vendace (night), Pop-Rock Pufferfish (rain, day) | |
| Jelly Candy | Alchemist Alligator (foggy), Franken-Flounder (rain, day) | |
| Taffy Pieces | Gargoyle Grouper (foggy, night), Graveyard Gudgeon, Scarecrow Snapper (clear), Sour Patch Salmon (windy, day), Taffy Trout, Voodoo Vendace (night) | Gargoyle Grouper also lists Gobstopper |
| Magnet | Frightful Casket | |
Second baits the wiki also lists: Candy Corn Cluster for Cobweb Cod, Mummy Mackerel and Tombstone Tuna, and Hallow-Pop for Crypt Crab and Jack-o-Angler. Wooden Stake, Haunted Eyeball and the Coffin fish have no bait tag at all. Doomed Skull, Headless Halibut and Jack-o-Angler carry a "Jack-o-Moon" tag too; the wiki has no page for it, so we don't know how it triggers.
How to use this: the fish are tagged by time and weather, so a Black Licorice session at night lines up Crypt Crab, Headless Halibut and Jack-o-Angler, and a Sour Jelly Candy session in the rain lines up Cauldron Catfish and Pop-Rock Pufferfish. None of these evento baits has its own wiki page, so we have no obtainment text for them. The general Bait page only says baits come from sources like Bait Crates (120C$ each), geodes, the Angler's quests and caixas caught while fishing, and it doesn't say which of those give these baits. Check in the game before you commit to a plan.
### Limited items besides fish
- Sinister Pumpkin (bobber): the wiki says you get it by offering candy to "Betrix", which looks like a typo for Beatrix.
- Oversized Candy Bucket (boat): from the witch for "about 45 hex energy", per the wiki.
- The Ghosdeeri (bobber): its page lists the Pumpkin King and tags it as a quest reward. The Pumpkin King's own page is filed under FischFright 2025, so check where he is this year.
- Coffin bobber, Skull lantern and Jack-o-Lantern lantern: the wiki says each comes "from the witch" and gives no cost or other detail.
## What we couldn't confirm
Being straight about the gaps saves you a wasted hour:
- How you reach Caustic Hallow. Its wiki page is a screenshot and a one-line caption.
- What Treats are used for beyond the Witch Kitty, and how you earn them.
- The chance for Doomsekkar's mutation, and the multipliers for the Webbed, Eldritch, Boglin, Doomed, Grim and Vile mutations. Only the Doomsekkar 8x is on a page.
- Weight, rarity and sell value for every evento fish.
- The exact end of the evento.
For past eventos the wiki is much fuller. FischFright 2024 ran outubro 18 to novembro 3, 2024 and added six evento fish, one limited rod, three limited bobbers, four limited titles and one limited boat. FischFright 2025 ran outubro 18 to novembro 1, 2025 and, per the Seasonal Events page, added three mutações, a rod, three relics and the Candy currency. The 2025 evento's Dusekkar Rod (not the same as the Doomsekkar Rod) is marked unobtainable, so don't mix the two up while searching.
## Frequently asked questions
### When does FischFright 3 end?
The wiki lists novembro 8, 2026 as the end date and outubro 16, 2026 as the start. We haven't verified this in the game.
