Tips & Strategy(6)
- โThis class is oriented towards tanky, close-quarters combat playstyles, being effective in both solo and team runs.
- โEvery perk of Brawler focuses on making the player even tankier.
- โTo fight against Entities, most notably Cultists, the player can use a well-known technique of running in circles around and hitting them with a melee weapon, mainly with a Spear, allowing the player to kill entities while minimalizing damage taken. With that said, players should try to find a Spear as soon as possible, as it will mostly be their main damage output early in the game until they'll eventually find a better weapon. (Note: This strategy works better on controller (console) devices.)
- โWhen fighting against Entities using ranged weapons, like Crossbow Cultists and Aliens, the same technique mentioned earlier applies. However, players should try to track when said entities will shoot, and jump when they're about to do so. This allows the player to dodge their projectile. Although, this technique is not as effective against Aliens as it is against Crossbow Cultists.
- โThe player can also try using a different tactic, that being getting close to them and running left and right, as they will miss their shots most of the time. However, the player should consider the amount of entities and their placement before executing this tactic.
- โWhen raiding the Cultist Stronghold, the player should try to prioritize killing Cultists, then kill the Crossbow Cultists, or vice versa depending
Brawler โ In-Depth Analysis
The Brawler is the dedicated tank of 99 Nights in the Forest, costing an affordable 100 Diamonds and starting with 1 Leather Body for armor. Every part of its kit pushes a single fantasy: stand in the thick of melee and outlast everything. The defining trade is steep but rewarding, +40% HP and +30% melee damage, balanced by a complete inability to use ranged weapons.
The perks only make you tankier. Level 2 adds 10% health regeneration and lets you regen sooner after taking damage, so you heal mid-fight instead of retreating. Level 3 grants a 5% chance to block incoming damage outright, a small but constant cushion against the chip damage of long brawls. Because you are locked out of ranged options, mastering melee positioning is essential: the classic tactic is circling Cultists with a Spear, and timing jumps to dodge Crossbow Cultist and Alien projectiles.
Choose the Brawler if you love front-line, close-quarters fighting and want a forgiving health pool that suits both solo and team runs. It works wonderfully as a damage sponge that draws enemy fire while teammates pick off targets, and its low Diamond cost makes that durability a genuine bargain.
