Class Tier List
This 99 Nights in the Forest class tier list is built on the actual perks the wiki documents (level 1, 2, 3) — not vibes. Each class got a weighted score from the objective strength of its perks: explicit percentages, real regen, chest synergy, tangible survival. We then bucketed all 39 classes into S, A, B, C, D.
Important caveat: the tier list is a guide, not a rulebook. Squad synergy and personal playstyle matter more than the letter next to a name. A coordinated B-tier comp survives more nights than four randoms with S-tier picks.
S-tier classes define the current meta. They carry clear percentage perks, chest synergy or genuine regen. If you're chasing night-99 runs, these are your picks.
Solid in any comp. They don't carry alone, but paired with S-tier they make consistent night-60-to-70 runs.

Frequently Asked Questions
How many classes are there in 99 Nights in the Forest?
There are 39 classes total. They range from free or low-cost picks like Witch (free), Trick or Treater (free), Scavenger (25 diamonds) and Camper (10 diamonds) all the way up to premium classes like Assassin (500 diamonds), Big Game Hunter (600 diamonds), Necromancer (600 diamonds), Pyromaniac (600 diamonds), Vampire (600 diamonds), Cyborg (600 diamonds), and the most expensive class, Engineer (1000 diamonds).
What are the best classes for beginners?
Camper (10 diamonds), Medic (40 diamonds), Hunter (40 diamonds), and Scavenger (25 diamonds) are the best starting classes. Camper reduces hunger drain — the most punishing mechanic for new players. Medic keeps your squad alive with healing perks. Hunter improves your combat effectiveness without requiring expensive gear. All four are accessible within your first few diamonds earned from badges.
Is Engineer worth 1000 diamonds?
Engineer is the most expensive class at 1000 diamonds and is oriented toward late-game base construction and mechanical systems. Its perks are powerful for squads who've mastered survival basics and want to push for night 99 runs. For new players or casual squads, classes like Beastmaster (400 diamonds) or Assassin (500 diamonds) offer better value at a lower cost. Earn Engineer as a long-term goal.
Which class is best for solo runs?
Survivor-type and self-sustaining classes perform best solo: Medic (40 diamonds) for passive healing, Camper (10 diamonds) for reduced hunger, and Fisherman (50 diamonds) if you're planning a fishing-heavy strategy. Gambler (55 diamonds) is excellent if you find good chest loot early. Avoid team-support focused classes like Support or Decorator when playing alone — their perks require teammates to be useful.
Do the free classes (Witch, Trick or Treater) have competitive perks?
Witch is a free class with potion-throwing mechanics that remain viable into mid-game, especially in group compositions. Trick or Treater is a seasonal/event class with no diamond cost. Neither competes with S-tier meta classes in a min-max context, but Witch specifically can be a strong B-to-A tier contributor in squads that understand its kit. Free classes are worth leveling up via perk progression even if you own premium ones.
