Description
Jaw Shield is one of the equippable accessories in Blox Fruits. Accessories add fixed stat bonuses (damage, defense, mastery gain, fragment generation, fruit cooldown reduction, etc.) and stack with the rest of your gear. They're a quiet but compounding part of any high-tier build, especially in PvP where the 5-15% stat edge from optimal accessory choice frequently decides 1v1s. Jaw Shield occupies an accessory slot, which means it competes for build space against other items in the same category — every player can only have one item equipped per slot, so picking Jaw Shield is a direct trade-off against alternatives in the same category. Jaw Shield contributes its bonus passively as long as it's equipped — there's no cooldown or activation. The value of any accessory ultimately comes down to whether its bonus is multiplicative on a stat your build already cares about. PvP-focused players prioritize damage% accessories; raid/grinding players favor mastery-gain or fragment-generation pieces. Jaw Shield costs varies by source when sourced through the standard channel. Jaw Shield is obtained via Tacomura. Equip Jaw Shield when its stat bonus matches the bottleneck of your current build. New players often over-stack damage when defense or mastery would unlock more progression — pay attention to the exact stat your build needs to graduate to the next tier of content, then pick the accessory that pushes that stat fastest.
Trivia
3- 1
The Captain Elephant wears the Jaw Shield visually, although he does not drop it upon defeat, nor does he get any buffs from it.
- 2
Some players think the description of the Jaw Shield is misleading, since it only covers the head, not the entire body. But since the buffs of the Jaw Shield include +10% Defense against Melee attacks, the description actually makes sense.
- 3
As of Update 29, the Jaw Shield has the highest increase for the damage of Melee attacks, due to Dojo Belt (Black)´s buffs being reajusted

Jaw Shield — In-Depth Analysis
The Jaw Shield is a Rare accessory that has carved a permanent spot in the meta thanks to a stacked stat sheet: +500 Energy, +250 HP, +12.5% Melee damage, +10% defense vs Melee and a massive +50% movement speed while equipped. That movespeed alone makes it broken for PvP — you outrun Light, Portal and even most Dragon users when chasing. The melee multiplier ties with Warrior Helmet for the highest in the game, so any fighting style main (V2 Awakening, Sharkman Karate, Death Step, Godhuman) gets a real DPS spike, not just a vanity bonus.
Getting it is grindy but free. Travel to Castle on the Sea in the Third Sea and find the Player Hunter NPC near the Elite Hunter, in front of the palace. He hands out PvP contracts — kill 5 random players on your server to clear five of his quests. Once that's done, climb the stairs to the left of the castle entrance and talk to Tacomura, who gives you the Jaw Shield for free. There's no Robux, drop RNG or boss timer; it's pure PvP grind.
Best pairings are melee-heavy hybrid builds: Buddha + Godhuman, Dough + Sharkman Karate, or any CDK abuser running Death Step. Stack it with Cool Shades (+15% dmg) and a Black Spikey Coat for the tankiest brawler in the game. Skip it if you main pure fruit DPS like Dragon, Leopard or gun builds — go Pretty Helmet (+20% sword) or Leviathan Shield (+15% all dmg) instead. For pure speedrunners, Terror Jaw is the upgraded successor.
