Description
The Chief Warden is a Lv. 230 boss. The Chief Warden wears a pair of emerald-green cargo shorts with silver, diamond shaped studs, and brown shoes. He has an Egyptian headdress, with black bat-like wings growing from his back. He does not wear a shirt, and his chest is consequently visible. The Chief Warden is found in the yard of Prison, First Sea. He is the second boss found in this area, after Warden. He respawns seven minutes after being defeated.

Chief Warden Strategy & Best Use
Chief Warden is the authoritarian boss of Impel Down (Prison) in the First Sea, required for the prison escape questline at level 1,000+. He carries 350,000 HP and uses a staff-based moveset with crowd-control shockwaves that can stun players for up to 2 seconds — enough to eat a follow-up heavy hit. Drops: Warden's Coat accessory (~6%), Prison Key quest item, Beli chunks, and a modest Fragment reward. Spawn timer is 20 minutes flat.
The stun is the fight's defining mechanic — Chief Warden fires a radial shockwave every 20 seconds on a predictable timer. Count aloud after each wave and dash vertically upward at second 18 to clear the hitbox cleanly. Gravity users can Black Hole him immediately after the shockwave to prevent him repositioning. Sword mains should use Triple Katana combos during the 15-second window between shockwaves — you get three full combo cycles in that window before needing to prepare the dodge.
Chief Warden is a reliable mid-tier farming spot with a 20-minute respawn that fits neatly between other First Sea objectives. The Warden's Coat at 6% is achievable in under 10 kills on average and offers solid defensive stats. Bounty hunters love this boss because Prison mobs in the surrounding area can be killed between respawns to pad Bounty numbers while waiting. Not the richest Fragment source, but efficient as a combo grind for Bounty + Beli simultaneously.
