Description
Ancient Beast is a Lv. 3000 Dungeon Raid Boss. The Ancient Beast is located on the 5th floor of a dungeon, typically being the first boss the player faces on any difficulty. He has 2 phases, similar to rip_indra True Form. In his first phase, he is a regular NPC who uses the M1s and abilities of T-Rex. When he reaches below around 30% Health, he goes into his second phase and transforms into a T-Rex and is able to use his transformed abilities.
Abilities
5Normal Attack
Ancient Beast constantly pressures the user with m1s throughout the fight.
Stay out of range, use Instinct.
Tail Swipe
Ancient Beast randomly launches a swipe of his tail towards the user. While transformed, the swipe is larger with more slashes
Try to stay out of range. The transformed slashes are only diagonal, the player can camp above the boss.
Predatory Screech
Ancient Beast charges in a conical crosshair in front of him, pulling player in, before throwing them away with a brutal screech. While transformed, this attack does much more damage, with a much larger hitbox
Try to stay out of range. If hit, the roar is instinct-trickable. Beware of the transformed version, as it will break Instinct.
Hunter's Rage
Ancient Beast quickly alligns himself to another player, charging for a moment, before dashing forwards with a barrage of slashes. When transformed, he instead lunges, smashing the user on the floor, and causing a 'nausea' effect.
Stay out of range. Both variants can be Instinct-tricked.
Gigantic Leap
Ancient Beast lunges down towards a player, getting closer.
Stay alert.

Ancient Beast Strategy & Best Use
Ancient Beast is a massive open-world raid boss introduced in Update 17 that roams the Floating Turtle island in the Third Sea. Recommended level is 2,000+, and its HP pool sits around 2,100,000 — beefy enough that solo kills require a dedicated damage build. The key drops are the Soul Guitar string material (rare, ~3%), Mythical Fragments (guaranteed stack), and a chance at raid-exclusive accessories. Spawn window is approximately 30–45 minutes after the last kill on any given server.
Keep maximum distance — Ancient Beast has a ground slam that one-shots most players under 3,000 defense. Use Kitsune or Leopard for the burst windows between slams; both fruits let you stay mobile while dealing consistent damage. The "eye" hitbox on its chest is the only zone that takes full damage, so aim every projectile there. Sword mains should use Yama or Cursed Dual Katana for the reach bonus that lets you land hits without walking under the slam range.
Ancient Beast is one of the better Third Sea farming spots if you need Mythical Fragments fast — each kill rewards 500–750 Fragments plus bonus rolls. The 30–45 minute respawn is generous compared to Leviathan's hourly cycle. Stack a kill team of 3–4 players to guarantee consistent resets without having to server-hop. If you're hunting the Soul Guitar material specifically, expect roughly 30+ kills before RNG smiles on you.
