Trivia

10
  1. 1

The player will need Aura to damage the Thunder God with a sword, fighting style, or gun as he uses the Rumble fruit, which is an Elemental type.

  2. 2

Ranged moves and speed are key to this fight.

  3. 3

A more exact version of this strategy is for the player to use long-ranged moves, such as Light's Z move. When the Thunder God is preparing to attack, they can either dash in a circle or move as soon as he releases the move.

  4. 4

The Thunder God's attacks are very easy to dodge. For example, when he uses Sky Thunder, the player can just get away from it so it can't hit them.

  5. 5

The player should have Instinct by this point, as Instinct tricking will be useful, especially for Rumble Dragon.

  6. 6

Notably, because the distance from Skylands's respawn point to Thunder's god spawn point is pretty long, if the player gets killed by the Thunder God, there is a high chance that the boss will fully regenerate his HP before they can come back to fight him again. It is recommended to deal damage from a distance so he has no time to heal.

  7. 7

The player should avoid the Thunder God's Sky Thunder because the stun of the move will let him hit the player with his M1 attack around 1-3 times before the player escapes.

  8. 8

The Thunder God's walk-speed is 1.25x faster than a non-Rabbit user, making it harder to outrun him.

  9. 9

Despite the Thunder God having the Tomoe Ring equipped, he does not drop the Tomoe Ring. It is instead sold by Yoshi on the castle. (Beside the location of the Sky Bandits)

  10. 10

The Thunder God is a boss, which means Elemental Reflex or Rubber will not work against him. (Same for any other bosses).

Thunder God Strategy & Best Use

Thunder God is a powerful First Sea boss found in the Skylands biome, suited for players around level 475–500. He commands approximately 45,000 HP and respawns every 20 minutes. As a sky-dwelling deity, he carries lightning-infused attacks that are fast and punishing. Drops include Money, EXP, and rare Sky Island loot that helps push players into the later First Sea and toward the Second Sea gateway.

Thunder God fights with rapid lightning bolts, an aerial slam, and a static field that lingers on the ground. Staying mobile is critical. Aerial Fruit users have an advantage, as they can match his elevation and dodge more freely. Melee players should focus on dash-to-melee patterns rather than sustained close combat, since his static field makes close-range fighting risky.

Thunder God is a solid late First Sea farming option for EXP and Money. His sky biome location makes him slightly out of the way for casual players, but dedicated grinders will find him worth the trip. Cycling his 20-minute respawn while training on Skylands enemies nearby is an efficient way to prepare for the Second Sea transition.
