Dark Fruit in Blox Fruits: Moves, Awakening Cost and Change History

Guide

Quick Summary

Dark fruit in Blox Fruits from the wiki: V1 and V2 moves with cooldowns, the 14,500 Fragment awakening split by move, Raid math, Elemental Reflex limits and every change since Update 1.

Dark is an Uncommon Elemental fruit in Blox Fruits that costs 500,000 Beli or 950 Robux at the Blox Fruit Dealer. It has no M1 attack, it awakens for 14,500 Fragments, and its moves pull enemies in and stun them. This guide lists the full V1 and V2 movesets with the numbers printed on the Blox Fruits Fandom wiki (blox-fruits.fandom.com), what awakening costs and how to earn those Fragments, how the Elemental Reflex passive works, and what has changed in Dark since release.

One correction first. Some guides describe a major Dark rework with new moves such as a Dark Scythe M1 or Abyss Pull. The wiki's change history for Dark shows no such rework. It shows Dark's awakening in Update 12, a nerf in 17.2, a model and icon refresh in Updates 20 and 24, and buffs in Update 29.6. Everything below follows that page, as of Update 30.1. We have not tested the fruit in-game.

The V1 moveset

KeyMoveMasteryCooldownEnergyBreaks Instinct
ZDark Rocks17.5 s15No
XBlack Spiral4012 s25No
CBlack Hole8021 s30Yes
VDark Bomb11027 s50Yes

Dark Rocks fires black-aura rocks toward the cursor. Black Spiral places a black hole on the cursor that traps targets and then launches them; holding it for up to 3 seconds raises the damage and stun. Black Hole opens a hole around you that damages and levitates anyone caught. Dark Bomb sends out an orb of darkness that drags targets in. The wiki notes that most V1 moves have high end-lag and can be punished if they miss, and that the range and damage are low compared with other options.

The V2 (awakened) moveset

KeyMoveMasteryCooldownEnergyFragmentsBreaks Instinct
ZDimensional Slash17.5 s15500No
FGhastly Step06 s252,000Not listed
XAbyssal Darkness4010.5 s253,000Yes
CEndless Hole8015 s354,000Yes
VWorld of Darkness11026.5 s505,000Yes

Dimensional Slash launches a vertical slash at the cursor and, if it lands, teleports you next to the target for a follow-up cut. Abyssal Darkness opens a vortex that lashes out tentacles, stunning and pulling targets while held. Endless Hole creates a hole that stuns targets and grows larger the longer you hold it. World of Darkness launches a spiked sphere that pulls targets in, implodes and throws them away. Ghastly Step teleports you and leaves an afterimage that can absorb incoming attacks.

The wiki's Awakened pros list great stuns, large hitboxes and moves that almost all break Instinct, plus a short cooldown on Ghastly Step. Its cons list moves that are punishing if missed, low damage compared with fruits of similar rarity, low mobility and a small hitbox on Dimensional Slash.

What awakening costs

The 14,500 Fragments are split by move: 500 for Z, 2,000 for F, 3,000 for X, 4,000 for C and 5,000 for V. You can buy awakened moves one at a time, so a partial awakening is possible. Awakening at least one move gives the Dark Lord title.

Raids are the wiki's route to Fragments and to awakening. The wiki says each Raid can give between 300 and 1,000 Fragments depending on how fast you finish or how far you get. From that range:

CaseRaids needed for 14,500 Fragments
Best case, 1,000 per Raid15
Worst case, 300 per Raid49

Raids are available in the Second and Third Seas. Joining needs level 700 or higher and hosting needs 1,100 or higher. A basic Raid starts with a Microchip from the Mysterious Scientist, for 100,000 Beli or any physical Blox Fruit, and up to four players can join. After finishing a Raid with Dark equipped, you are taken to the church where the Mysterious Entity awakens a move for Fragments.

The table assumes Raid rewards alone, so treat it as a planning range and not a promise.

Elemental Reflex

Dark shares the Elemental Reflex passive with the other Elemental fruits. According to the wiki:

  • NPCs below a certain level cannot damage you, with the required level fixed per NPC.
  • Enemies or players with Aura enabled can always damage you.
  • Bosses ignore the passive completely.

The wiki says Elemental fruits are effective for grinding in the First Sea and stay strong in the Second Sea, but in the Third Sea the passive helps less because most enemies use Aura and the level requirements rise. For leveling, the wiki's Leveling Guide recommends Buddha over Elemental fruits from the Second Sea on.

Change history

UpdateChange
1Dark released
12Dark gets an awakening
17.2Nerf: hitbox of Abyssal Darkness (V2) reduced
20Fruit model revamped
24Icon revamped
29.6Buffs to all four V2 attacks: Dimensional Slash no longer self-stuns and gains 25% range and hitbox; Abyssal Darkness now breaks Instinct with 25% less end-lag; Endless Hole gets a 15% bigger hitbox and a 50% longer final stun when fully held; World of Darkness gets faster casting and travel

Update 29.6, named The Summer PvP Patch, is the most recent change to Dark on the wiki.

Should you buy Dark

Using the kit score from our fruit tier list (Instinct-breaking moves plus M1), Dark scores 3 and sits in C tier. At 500,000 Beli, two Elemental fruits cost less and score higher: Ice at 350,000 Beli scores 5 and Flame at 250,000 Beli scores 4. Dark's selling points on the wiki are its stuns and large awakened hitboxes, and its price is still low. Players who like pulling and stunning enemies have a reason to pick it. Players who want the highest Instinct coverage per Beli have better options.

Common mistakes

  • Believing in a Dark rework. The wiki records none. Moves like Dark Scythe or Abyss Pull are not in its move list.
  • Expecting an M1. The wiki lists Dark without one.
  • Awakening everything at once. You can awaken per move, and the costs are different.
  • Relying on Elemental Reflex in the Third Sea or against bosses. The wiki says bosses ignore it and Aura users can always hit you.
  • Using unawakened Dark for Instinct breaks. In V1, only Black Hole and Dark Bomb break Instinct.
