The maximum level in Blox Fruits is 3,000, but grinding enemies only takes you to 2,800. The last 200 levels come from the 40 Island Secrets in the First Sea, worth 5 levels each. This guide turns the level-by-level route from the Blox Fruits Fandom wiki's Leveling Guide (blox-fruits.fandom.com) into a reference you can follow: which sea to be in at each level, which enemy or boss to grind, which fruit and boosts to use, and what the wiki says to skip.
The route follows the wiki as of Update 30.1. Update 30 revamped the First Sea and raised the cap from 2,800 to 3,000, so older routes through the First Sea no longer match. We have not timed this route ourselves.
Key numbers
| Fact | Value (wiki) |
|---|---|
| Maximum level | 3,000 |
| Reachable by grinding | 2,800 |
| Extra levels from Island Secrets | 200 (40 secrets, 5 levels each) |
| Stat points per level | 3 |
| EXP to level up | ceil(2 x level^2.3 + 84) |
| EXP to reach 2,800 | 143,840,871,332 |
| Level to enter the Second Sea | 700 (a quest is also required) |
| Level to enter the Third Sea | 1,500 (a quest is also required) |
The wiki notes that at max level a player cannot earn more EXP, and that a stat can hold as many points as the current level cap.
Before you start grinding
Pick the right fruit. In the First Sea, the wiki recommends an Elemental fruit or Buddha, because Elemental Reflex makes many enemies unable to hurt you. Light costs 650,000 Beli and is on stock at least once a day, according to the guide. Buddha costs 1,200,000 Beli and the guide treats it as one of the best grinding fruits in every sea, since its transformation gives more M1 range and extra defense. From the Second Sea on, the guide says Buddha beats Elemental fruits because immunity falls off, and it advises awakening Buddha by about level 1,100, when hosting raids unlocks.
Use 2x EXP carefully. The shop sells 2x EXP boosts: 25 Robux for 15 minutes, 99 for 1 hour, 450 for 6 hours, 850 for 12 hours and 1,499 for 24 hours. Boosts do not stack in strength, only in duration. Codes give 2x EXP too. The guide suggests using around ten codes across the First and Second Seas and saving the rest for the Third Sea, one at a time, because a running boost cannot be paused.
Skip the slow methods. The guide calls fishing inefficient for EXP: a catch takes 30 to 60 seconds, while a quest usually takes one to two minutes. It also says PvP does not help leveling and that sea beasts are better for money than EXP.
Server hop for bosses. Boss quests give extra EXP and money, but bosses respawn slowly, so the guide recommends hopping servers until one has the boss up. That is not possible on console, which has no server button.
First Sea route (levels 1 to 775)
| Level range | What to grind (wiki) |
|---|---|
| 1 to 10 | Bandits, as a Pirate |
| 10 to 55 | Galley Pirates at Fountain City, skipping Jungle |
| 55 to 90 | Chef boss, skipping Desert |
| 90 to 105 | Snow Bandits |
| 105 to 130 | Yeti boss |
| 130 to 220 | Vice Admiral boss at Marine Fortress |
| 220 to 300 | Ruthless Prisoners, skipping the Colosseum |
| 300 to 375 | Military Soldiers at Magma Village |
| 375 to 406 | Fishman Warriors (stop at 400 without an Elemental fruit) |
| 406 to 425 | Fishman Commandos |
| 425 to 500 | Fishman Lord boss at Underwater City |
| 500 to 775 | Sky Warlord boss at Upper Skylands, skipping Fountain City |
Two points from the wiki stand out. The Sky Warlord stretch is 275 levels long and is described as the most efficient way through that range. And the guide advises against grinding it past 775 even with an Elemental fruit, because the level 775 enemies in the next sea give more EXP per second.
Second Sea route (levels 775 to 1500)
| Level range | What to grind (wiki) |
|---|---|
| 775 to 925 | Swan Pirates near the Area 2 Quest Giver |
| 925 to 1,000 | Orbitus boss, skipping Graveyard Island |
| 1,000 to 1,150 | Snow Troopers at Snow Mountain |
| 1,150 to 1,250 | Smoke Admiral boss at Hot and Cold (to 1,400 with Buddha) |
| 1,250 to 1,300 | Ship Deckhands at the Cursed Ship (without Buddha) |
| 1,300 to 1,400 | Ship Stewards (without Buddha) |
| 1,400 to 1,500 | Awakened Ice Admiral boss (to 1,550 without Buddha) |
You can enter the Second Sea at level 700, but the wiki recommends staying on the Sky Warlord until 775 because the first Second Sea enemies, including Raiders and the Diamond boss, grind slowly. The guide also warns that the map only works in the First Sea, so memorize the islands in the next two seas. It suggests a private server at the Orbitus stretch, since many players farm there and bounty hunters are common.
Third Sea route (levels 1500 to 2800)
| Level range | What to grind (wiki) |
|---|---|
| 1,500 to 1,550 | Pirate Millionaires (Buddha users) |
| 1,550 to 1,675 | Stone boss |
| 1,675 to 1,750 | Hydra Leader boss at Hydra Island |
| 1,750 to 1,825 | Kilo Admiral boss at Great Tree |
| 1,825 to 1,925 | Forest Pirates at Floating Turtle |
| 1,925 to 1,975 | Musketeer Pirates |
| 1,975 to 2,000 | Reborn Skeletons at Haunted Castle |
| 2,000 to 2,075 | Living Zombies |
| 2,075 to 2,125 | Peanut Scouts, Sea of Treats |
| 2,125 to 2,200 | Ice Cream Chefs |
| 2,200 to 2,300 | Cookie Crafters |
| 2,300 to 2,325 | Cocoa Warriors |
| 2,325 to max | Cocoa Warriors and Chocolate Bar Battlers, alternating |
In the Third Sea the guide says an M1 fruit such as Buddha or Dragon is close to necessary. The Demonic Souls at level 2,025 are optional: they can give Bones for 2x EXP from the Death King, but the guide says codes are more efficient and that their explosion breaks Instinct and drains 25% of health.
Island Secrets: the last 200 levels
Island Secrets are 40 hidden quests in the First Sea. Each one raises your level cap and your level by 5. The wiki says they can be done at any level, that you will see a "Secret Levels Available!" message over your EXP bar, and that completing three secrets on an island unlocks that island as a teleport destination in Middle Town. Some secrets can be completed by only one player per spawn.
A bug can make the quest NPC reward only 2 levels instead of 5. The wiki says to keep talking to the NPC for the rest, and warns that leaving the game before doing so loses them.
Levels from bosses
The wiki lists these direct level gains:
| Boss | Levels gained |
|---|---|
| Dough King | 6 |
| Tyrant of the Skies | 6 |
| Leviathan | 5 |
| Darkbeard, Greybeard, Cake Prince, rip_indra True Form, Order | 3 each |
| Sea Beast, Terrorshark | 1 each |
Common mistakes
- Following a pre-Update 30 route. The First Sea islands were revamped and Chief Warden and Swan were removed.
- Staying with an Elemental fruit in the Third Sea. The wiki says the immunity gap grows and most enemies have Aura.
- Burning every 2x code at once. The boost cannot be paused, so one code at a time fits the game's own advice.
- Expecting level 3,000 from grinding. Grinding stops at 2,800. The final 200 levels require Island Secrets.
- Fishing for EXP. It is slower than quests per the wiki.
