Quick Summary

Sea 2 is where Blox Fruits stops holding your hand. Here's my island-by-island walkthrough โ€” quest order, boss strategy, and every level wall from 700 to the Sea 3 portal.

Sea 2 โ€” the Second Sea โ€” is where Blox Fruits actually starts. I remember hitting level 700 for the first time thinking I was ready, then landing at Kingdom of Rose and getting two-shot by a Diamond NPC. The questing pace doubles, mob HP triples, and every island slaps a level wall in your face. I've run this progression more times than I can count, and this walkthrough covers the entire Sea 2 path from the level 700 entry quest at Prison Island all the way to the Sea 3 portal at level 1,500.

How to enter Sea 2

You unlock Sea 2 at level 700 by completing the Ice Admiral quest at Prison Island in Sea 1. After the kill, talk to the Military Detective โ€” he hands you a Sea 2 key. Take that key to the boat at the Marine Fortress dock and sail to Kingdom of Rose.

If your boat doesn't show up, you missed the detective conversation. I've seen this trip up probably half the players I've helped. Don't skip the NPC.

Island-by-island progression order

Sea 2 has 11 islands plus a handful of hidden zones. Here's the order I always follow:

IslandLevel rangeKey quest
Kingdom of Rose700โ€“875Defeat Diamond + Bandits
Green Zone875โ€“950Mob quests, no boss
Graveyard950โ€“1,000Defeat Don Swan
Dark Arena950Buy Dark fruit / awaken
Snow Mountain1,000โ€“1,100Defeat Smoke Admiral
Hot and Cold1,100โ€“1,200Twin elemental quest
Cursed Ship1,200โ€“1,250Defeat Cursed Captain
Ice Castle1,250โ€“1,325Defeat Awakened Ice Admiral
Magma Village1,325โ€“1,425Magma Admiral boss
Forgotten Island1,425+Awakening unlock at the Mysterious Man
Underwater City1,425โ€“1,500Final Sea 2 quests

Levels 700โ€“875: Kingdom of Rose

Land at the docks, talk to the first questgiver, and start clearing Diamond NPCs outside the castle. You'll hit level 800 in roughly 35 minutes if you skip cutscenes and stick to tight mob loops.

The big thing here is Don Swan. He sits in the Graveyard mansion at level 950, drops the Swan Glasses accessory, and unlocks the Forgotten Island ferry. He's quest-locked โ€” you must finish the prerequisite Bandit quest before you trek to the Graveyard. A lot of people blow an hour wondering why Swan won't trigger. That's why.

Levels 875โ€“1,100: Green Zone, Graveyard, Snow Mountain

Green Zone is basically an XP hallway. Spend 1โ€“2 hours there and you graduate to Snow Mountain by level 1,000. What most guides won't tell you is that Green Zone mob density is actually better than Snow Mountain mobs at the same level range โ€” don't rush out of there.

Snow Mountain brings the Smoke Admiral, a level 1,100 boss with a Smoke fruit drop chance. Smoke isn't a strong fruit, but the drop is a fragment-equivalent shortcut for free fruit storage. Worth farming if you're building a collection.

Levels 1,100โ€“1,250: Hot and Cold + Cursed Ship

Honestly this stretch is my favorite part of Sea 2. Hot and Cold mobs are split between Fire and Ice elemental NPCs, both giving high XP per kill. The quest order matters here: finish the Hot and Cold quest before moving to Cursed Ship, because the latter requires the former. I ignored that once and wasted a full trip.

Cursed Ship has a timed event boss โ€” the Cursed Captain spawns every 90 minutes server-wide. He drops the Cutlass sword (B-tier, nothing special) but he also unlocks the Ship Raid teleport. That Ship Raid is the single most efficient mastery farm in the game. Do not sleep on it.

Levels 1,250โ€“1,500: the awakening grind

At 1,250, head to Ice Castle for the Awakened Ice Admiral quest. This boss hits different โ€” 90% damage resistance to non-Sea-2 fruits. Come with Buddha, Dough, Magma, or something else that's Sea-2-tier. I tried it with a Sea 1 fruit on my third character and got humbled fast.

Awakening unlocks at level 1,425 via the Mysterious Man at Forgotten Island. Once he gives you access, you awaken fruits at the Awakening Lab in Magma Village. The fragments you need come from the Ship Raid โ€” run it on repeat.

Hidden zones nobody talks about

  • The Lost Caves under Ice Castle โ€” drop chance for Tushita-tier weapons. Requires the underwater diving accessory from Underwater City.
  • The Sky Bridge above Snow Mountain โ€” a wind-current event that fast-travels you to the Cursed Ship dock.
  • The Bartilo NPC in Kingdom of Rose โ€” sells the Saber V1 for 2,000,000 Beli. Easily missed, genuinely useful.

Sea 2 boss order for fastest progression

  1. 1Diamond (level 750) โ€” Kingdom of Rose
  2. 2Don Swan (level 950) โ€” Graveyard mansion
  3. 3Smoke Admiral (level 1,100) โ€” Snow Mountain
  4. 4Cursed Captain (level 1,250, timed) โ€” Cursed Ship
  5. 5Awakened Ice Admiral (level 1,300) โ€” Ice Castle
  6. 6Mysterious Man (level 1,425) โ€” Forgotten Island, awakening unlock
  7. 7Magma Admiral (level 1,425) โ€” Magma Village, Sea 3 unlock

XP/hour expectations per island

  • Kingdom of Rose mobs: ~600k XP/hr
  • Green Zone: ~750k XP/hr
  • Snow Mountain: ~900k XP/hr
  • Hot and Cold: ~1.1M XP/hr
  • Cursed Ship: ~1.2M XP/hr
  • Ice Castle: ~1.4M XP/hr
  • Magma Village: ~1.5M XP/hr

These numbers assume Buddha awakened with high-mastery sword. Cut them ~30% if you're running a non-elemental fruit.

Quest cheat sheet for solo grinders

  • Always grab the next island's quest before you finish the current one โ€” they auto-progress when you out-level mobs.
  • Save 2x XP codes for Hot and Cold and beyond โ€” that's where the per-hour XP curve gets steep.
  • Buy Race reroll at the Tort NPC if you ended up Human or Skypiean. Cyborg or Ghoul are noticeably better for Sea 2 grinding.
  • Carry 5,000,000 Beli at all times for stat resets โ€” most builds need a respec around level 1,200 when you switch fruits.

Frequently asked questions

Can I trade fruits in Sea 2?
Yes. The Trade Machine is in Sea 2's Kingdom of Rose โ€” you unlock trading the moment you arrive.

Where do I awaken fruits in Sea 2?
The Awakening Lab in Magma Village. You trigger access after completing the Ship Raid from Cursed Ship.

What is the level cap for Sea 2?
Sea 2 itself has no cap, but you can't enter Sea 3 until you're level 1,500 and have defeated Magma Admiral.

Is the Mysterious Man quest mandatory?
For awakening, yes. For Sea 3 progression, no.

Best fruit to switch to in Sea 2?
Buddha or Dough. Both are available from the Sea 2 Blox Fruit Dealer. Both are perm-fruits worth the Robux investment for long-term play.

Wrapping up

Sea 2 is a 15โ€“25 hour milestone depending on how efficient you are. Treat it like a second tutorial โ€” the real Blox Fruits starts in Sea 3. Stay locked on quest order, don't overlevel before unlocking the Awakening, and keep an eye on the Cursed Captain spawn timer. Once you knock out Magma Admiral and step through that Sea 3 portal, the actual late game opens up and your fragments and trade values finally start to matter.
