Description

Picked up from the Living Skeleton vendor in Magma Village for 750,000 Beli, Soul Cane is one of the pricier rare swords you will encounter in the First Sea — but its unusual kit makes the cost defensible. The sword is held in a reverse grip and brings two skill-based moves: Soul Beam fires a thin white projectile that explodes after a short travel distance and briefly freezes any enemy it catches, while Soul Slashes rapid-fires a spread of air slashes that stun targets for two seconds with no knockback, keeping them planted exactly where you need them for a follow-up. That no-knockback stun is what separates Soul Cane from most First Sea options. For NPC farming it means mobs stay clumped, and in PvP it creates a reliable window to chain into a fruit or fighting-style finisher before the target recovers. Soul Beam can also break Instinct on a headshot, which is rare at this tier. The trade-offs are real: the hitbox is small, both moves lock you in place during animation, and raw damage lags behind comparably priced swords. Soul Cane rewards players who treat it as a combo extender rather than a primary damage tool. It scales with your Sword stat, so invest there to close the damage gap as you progress.

Soul Cane — In-Depth Analysis

What Is Soul Cane?

Soul Cane is a Rare rarity sword sold by the Living Skeleton vendor in Magma Village for 750,000 Beli, accessible in the First Sea. For a First Sea rare weapon, the price is steep, but what Soul Cane offers in return is a move set built around hard stuns and Instinct-breaking potential that punches above its rarity tier in the right hands.

Strengths in the Right Build

Soul Cane's standout quality is its stun duration — both moves are extremely fast-activating and lock enemies in place for a long time relative to other First Sea options. Combined with its AoE and zero knockback design, Soul Cane is excellent for farming NPCs without scattering them. Critically, it can break Instinct on headshots, which is a meaningful bonus in PvP where most First Sea swords cannot touch Instinct at all.

The weaknesses are also significant: low damage for its price, small hitboxes that punish imprecise aim, the sword locks the user in place during animations, and the Instinct-break is conditional on landing a headshot rather than guaranteed. Blade users are fully immune.

- Best role: First Sea NPC farming and intermediate PvP combo chains - Signature trait: long stun duration with no knockback — enemies stay exactly where you need them - Concrete tip: Soul Cane's value explodes when used as a combo extender rather than a main damage source — open with a fighting-style stun, drop Soul Cane skills to hold the target, then close with your primary damage fruit before the stun expires.

Where it shines
  • Very high combo potential.
  • Good for any playstyle due to having stuns.
  • Good for farming since both moves have AoE and no knockback.
  • Moves are extremely fast.
  • Low mastery requirements.
What to watch out for
  • Blade users are immune.
  • Requires a lot of skill to utilize its full potential.
  • Expensive for First Sea players.
  • Low damage compared to other swords.
  • Small hitbox.
