Lighter

The Lighter is the cheapest way to carry fire in DOORS: 100 Gold at Jeff's Shop in The Hotel, or 50 Knobs in the Pre-Run Shop. It also turns up inside containers and on tables, and the wiki lists a 60% chance of it appearing in Jeff's stall.

Its fuel is split into three bars of 20 seconds, for 60 seconds in total. The Wear and Tear modifier halves that to 30 seconds. Each time a bar is spent you need one more flick to relight it: one click on the first bar, two on the second, three on the third, and the fuel keeps draining while you try. When it runs dry it disappears from your inventory.

Rules to remember

• The light is a radius, not a beam, so it is not directional like the Flashlight, Shakelight or Bulklight.
• It can light a Candle for 2 seconds of fuel.
• It cannot be refueled; the only fix is swapping for a lighter with more fuel.
• Waist-deep Flood water puts it out and shows "This is soaked..." until the wet status ends.
• In a Firedamp room in The Mines, using it makes you explode.
• Gloombats attack while it burns, and Figure can hear it.
