Lantern

Five minutes of fuel makes the Lantern the longest-burning handheld light you can find in The Outdoors. It is a black lantern with a small rounded handle and a glass lamp, it lights you in all directions like a Lighter, and its range is slightly larger than the Lighter's.

You pick it up from the ground, tables, fountains and vine-covered chests throughout The Outdoors, and one is guaranteed to spawn just before the Eyestalk chase, where it is useful. It has no shop price. It is also handy in dark rooms.

Details

• A held Lantern has physics: it sways with your camera and steps, the first item to do so.
• It emits particles.
• When it runs out of fuel it shows a Lighter icon, which the wiki treats as an unknown bug or feature.

Risks

It shares the Lighter's flaws: it makes you explode in a Firedamp leak room, stops working in water, attracts Figure and Gloombats, and cannot stun Giggle. Louie gives a Gween Soda 25% of the time when handed one. It was teased in an old Ghostly Wowzers image as a room decoration before becoming an item.
