That distinction matters when you are deciding what to chase, because unlike a weather mutation such as Frozen or Chilled, the Penguin does not directly multiply a crop's sale price the moment you harvest. Its value lives in its passive ability and, frankly, in its scarcity.

What makes it desirable is the source. It drops from Santa's Stash during the Christmas Harvest Event, an event-gated pool that closes when the season ends, so once the window shuts the Penguin becomes a collector's piece rather than a farmable one. That permanence-of-rarity is the real reason players want it: limited mythicals tend to hold trade value long after their event, especially cold-themed pets that synergize thematically with winter mutation stacks.

If you missed the Christmas Harvest Event, treat the Penguin as a trade target rather than a grind target. For an active farmer it is nice prestige but not a throughput upgrade, so prioritize it only if you value collection completeness or expect its limited status to keep appreciating.
