Favorite Tool

The Favorite Tool is a Divine, 100%-rarity gear, not a crop, so it has no seed cost, sell price, or growth time. Economically it does not generate value directly — it protects it. Used on a crop, it places a heart icon on the fruit and makes that crop uncollectable by the garden owner until the tool is used again, effectively locking a plant so you cannot accidentally sell or harvest it.

That makes it a defensive asset for high-value farming. If you are growing a slow, heavily mutated, or event-locked crop you intend to keep for display, a quest, or a future high-multiplier sale, the Favorite Tool freezes it in place so a careless mass-harvest does not wipe out hours of compounding mutation. The trade-off is real: a favorited crop earns you nothing until you unfavorite it, so it is dead capital while locked.

One sharp caveat — favoriting blocks only you, the owner. Other players can still steal the crop, so the tool is not theft protection. The optimal use is reserving it for your single best showcase plants, not your everyday sell rotation, where keeping crops collectable and turning them over quickly is what actually drives income.
