Trader Event

The Trader Event is not a crop but a game-changing economic update that premiered in Update 1.33.0, and that distinction matters: it has no seed cost, sell price, or growth time because its value is structural rather than agricultural. What it introduced — new trading mechanics and a dedicated trading plaza — reshaped how every other crop in Grow a Garden is valued.

Economically, the Trader Event matters because it created a player-driven market. Before reliable trading, a crop's worth was capped by its base sell price; afterward, scarcity and demand set real prices, which is exactly why limited event Divines and Mythicals command far more in trades than their raw sheckle yield suggests. The plaza turned hoarded rare harvests into liquid, tradeable assets.

The event also bundled new seeds, pets, and quality-of-life rewards, giving players fresh inventory to either farm or trade. The smart approach is to treat the Trader Event as the moment your collection becomes a portfolio: hold scarce, event-locked crops you cannot replant, and use the plaza to swap surplus common harvests for the rarities you missed. It is infrastructure, not produce — but it underpins the entire late-game economy.
