Garden Guide

The Garden Guide is completely free — it was originally handed to every player on joining, and arrived in Update 1.19.0 as a built-in reference panel rather than a tool you deploy on your plot. So there's no Sheckle-vs-utility trade-off to weigh here: the only "cost" is the time you spend reading it.

Its job is information. The Guide lets you look up Daily Quests, Achievements, Crops, Pets, Cosmetics, Food, and Mutations in one place, which turns a lot of wiki-tabbing and guesswork into a quick in-game lookup. The genuinely valuable hook is the Achievements section, because completing those grants real rewards — Silver Seed Packs and Garden XP — that feed straight back into your farm's growth.

Because it's free and reward-linked, this is a day-one open-it-immediately item. New players should treat the Achievements list as a built-in to-do list that pays you for progressing the way you were going to anyway. There's no scenario where skipping it makes sense — the only mistake is ignoring it and leaving free Silver Seed Packs and XP on the table during your early farm-building phase.
