Join a Friend
A menu option that lets you jump into the server of one of your friends.
- It is one of the six options in the menu opened with the magnifying glass icon on the top bar.
- It only works if your friend’s server is not full and is not in a different region.
Duels
Team fights on randomized maps in 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3+ formats, with a Casual queue and a Ranked queue that uses Elo.
- Choosing Duels teleports you to a menu with two options, Casual and Ranked; you then press the “Ready” button at the bottom of the screen to search for a random opponent.
- Formats are 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3+ on randomized maps. A party holds up to 4 players and can only face parties with the same number of players.
- Players are assigned to the “Sorcerers” or “Curses” team and sent to a grassy baseplate arena with invisible borders and four spawns near the center, two per team.
- Each team has 3 lives in 1v1 and 5 lives in 2v2 and larger. You win by depleting the other team’s lives, or, if the timer expires, by having more lives left.
- The top bar offers Invite to Party, Disband Party (only for the party owner with at least 2 members), Region Matchmaking (toggles matching within your region) and Return to Main Game (sends you to a public server).
- When the match ends, the winner’s equipped Victory Flash plays and then “Shenanigan’d!” appears in cyan text; the loser sees the same screen in purple text.
- Summoning Mahoraga costs you one life in Ranked or Roulette.
- In Ranked 2v2, unlike Roulette’s SRC and FSD, teammates can hurt each other.
Casual
Duels where matchmaking does not guarantee opponents of similar skill; each player picks a Binding Vow at the start and can vote for a rematch twice.
- During the immobile countdown at the start (3 seconds), three random Binding Vow options appear on each player’s screen; you can pick one or let the timer run out to take none.
- There are six Binding Vows: Revealing One’s Hand, Overtime, Enchain, Taking a Gamble, True Love and Never Again.
- Players can vote for a rematch twice at the end of a Casual duel.
Binding Vows
- Revealing One’s Hand:
- Overtime:
- Enchain:
- Taking a Gamble:
- True Love:
- Never Again:
Ranked
The Elo-based queue: no Binding Vows, a 5-second countdown and matchmaking limited to opponents with a similar Elo.
- The match starts after a 5-second countdown and no Binding Vow options are shown.
- You start with 0 Elo points, gain Elo after each win and lose Elo after each loss; Elo can never fall below zero.
- Leaving a match causes a heavy Elo loss.
- You cannot be matched against an opponent whose Elo differs from yours by 50 or more.
- The Elo gained or lost per match depends on the Elo difference between the players and ranges from 1 to 10.
- A Highest Elo leaderboard sits on the right side of the Duels menu.
- Winning a Ranked game grants nothing by itself; only the kills made along the way give their own reward (5$ each).
Custom Servers
Private servers hosted publicly by their owners, used to show off builds and movesets or to run tournaments.
- To join: choose “Custom Server”, refresh the list or type a server title, then press the server you want. Typing a region abbreviation such as “EU” shows only servers from that region.
- To host: choose “Custom Server”, select “Create A Server”, type a server title and press “Create”.
- You are teleported to your own server, which has the private server commands, and any player can join it.
- The “Server Name” and “Server Icon” settings change how the server appears in the servers list.
- Two achievements relate to it: “Your own story!” (create a custom server) and “Popular” (have 20 different players join your custom server).
Roulette
Fast minigames chosen by player vote in a shared lobby; you pick a server region, vote for one of four minigames and earn points that turn into cash.
- Selecting Roulette opens a tab with several server regions; you then enter a voting lobby where you vote by stepping on the pressure plate of one of four minigames.
- Each option shows its vote count, but a vote only raises the chance of that minigame being picked; the winner is announced at the top of the screen with a short description.
- You can choose to AFK in the lobby. Players who lose all their lives return to the lobby, where they can AFK or spectate as a crow that flies and screams with M1.
- The wiki says there are currently 10 minigames, but its table lists 9 (SWP, SRC, FTT, FSD, EOJ, PFT, AMS, PSR, SSP). They are split into Large maps and Small maps.
- After each minigame a score screen summarizes your performance and rewards through a points system, and the Victory Flash of the player with the most points plays before everyone returns to the voting lobby.
- The cash reward is based on points and capped at 50$ per round. Kills are not paid as in public servers, but they do add points in several minigames.
- Point sources: SWP, SRC, FTT and SSP give more points per kill; FSD scores damage dealt; EOJ scores kills for Sorcerers and kills plus damage for Curses; PFT scores time spent near the tagger (and tagger kills); AMS scores kills and accuracy; the minigame abbreviated PFC in the rewards table gives 1 point per second survived.
Brain Swap (SWP)
Large mapEveryone gets randomized movesets for both base and Awakening, with reduced damage and cooldowns; every death reshuffles them and the goal is to get the most kills.
- The movesets come from the game’s move pool, excluding abilities like Rika, Spike Wrath, Head Splitter and all domain expansions.
Sorcery Clash (SRC)
Large mapA team deathmatch between “Sorcerers” and “Curses” where each player has one life; it ends when a team loses all its players or the timer runs out.
First to Twelve (FTT)
Large mapPlayers fight with randomized base movesets, increased damage, reduced cooldowns and infinite lives, with no Awakenings, regeneration or burst; the first to 12 kills wins.
- Each new kill count gives a different random base moveset, so two players with the same number of kills share the same moveset. At 11 kills the only move is Head Splitter.
Final Showdown (FSD)
Large mapA juggernaut mode: one random player becomes Strongest Of History (health scales with the number of active players) and the rest, on the “Sorcerers” team, must kill him.
- Sorcerers get 3 lives each and can see the boss’s health and Awakening progress; the boss has only one life. Neither side can regenerate health.
- The game ends when the boss drains all the Sorcerers’ lives, when the players kill the boss, or when the six-minute timer runs out, which counts as a boss win.
- Winning as Strongest Of History also gives a special Victory Flash and unlocks the achievement “The strongest of history”.
End of Journey (EOJ)
Large mapA wave-based survival: Sorcerers have one life and Transfigured Humans spawn in waves; every Sorcerer who dies becomes a Transfigured Human.
- A dead Sorcerer respawns as a Transfigured Human with 20 HP, no front dash and infinite lives; dying again gives a different moveset, size and color, but always Locust Guy’s M1s.
- Sorcerers win by surviving until the timer ends; Curses win by turning every Sorcerer to their side before it ends. Parkour is disabled.
Perfection Tag (PFT)
Small mapA tag game where one “Perfection” player hunts defenseless Sorcerers who have combat disabled, faster running speed and 1 HP.
- The Perfection player has a moveset of a slightly faster Idle Transfiguration with no cooldown. Each death extends the timer by 30 seconds, up to a cap of 3 minutes.
American Shenanigans (AMS)
Large mapEveryone is on the same team with friendly fire and one life, and gets an undroppable gun with infinite ammo to shoot crows that spawn during the match and earn progress points.
- Crow types: Jackpot (large HP pool), Transfigured (spawns multiple curse NPCs), Overheating beak and feet (explodes immediately after being hit) and Smoke (flies to the player with the highest score before exploding).
- At 40 progress points a player obtains the “God Gun”, a gun with a much higher fire rate that can bypass friendly fire.
Prison Realm (PSR)
Small mapEveryone is forced into the domain clash state: movesets are overridden, you get double side dashes and weaker melee attacks, and the last player standing wins.
- The Prison Realm appears over one player’s head with a 15-second timer, giving faster walk speed and the ability to pass the cursed object to whoever they hit. When the timer ends it seals and kills the last player it tagged, then moves to another player.
Soul Swap (SSP)
Large mapOn spawn you are offered 3 random movesets of Common, Rare or Legendary rarity; each death reshuffles them and the goal is to get the most kills.
- The chosen moveset also decides which character you play, depending on its mechanics, and some movesets are fully custom-made with the Skill Builder.
Creator Clash
A mode built around the Workshop: every player can fight on a special map with custom movesets uploaded by the community.
- The Workshop is the main tool for loading movesets in Creator Clash.
- Many limits on visual effects and abilities were added in response to broken movesets such as the infamous Wonder Of U moveset.
- Private servers have a “Creator Clash Changes” moderation setting that applies the mode’s balance measures (disabling overbearing visuals, one-shot hitboxes, etc.).
Public Servers
The standard base game: you are teleported to a random server with the Shinjuku-inspired map, where items spawn every ten minutes.
- It is where players spawn in when they join the game.
- Items spawn at certain spots of the map every ten minutes.
- Killing another player here grants 5$, Kogane points are only earned here, and daily and weekly quests can only be completed in public servers.
