MM2 rarity list at a glance
Murder Mystery 2 weapons fall into eight rarities on the wiki: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Godly, Ancient, Unique and Vintage. The wiki's tier pages chain them from Common up through Uncommon, Rare, Legendary, Godly and Ancient to Unique. Vintage sits outside that chain, and Chroma is a Godly-tier variant rather than a ninth rarity.
That one paragraph hides a lot of small disagreements between wiki pages, and they matter if you are trying to read a trade or plan a box purchase. This guía lays out the full MM2 weapon rarity list with colors, order, counts, box odds and crafting costs, and it points out each place where the wiki contradicts itself instead of picking a side.
| Tier | Color the wiki gives | Position, lowest to highest |
|---|---|---|
| Common | Gray | 1 |
| Uncommon | Blue (drawn as bright cyan) | 2 |
| Rare | Green | 3 |
| Legendary | Red | 4 |
| Godly | Pink | 5 |
| Ancient | Purple | 6 |
| Unique | Orange | 7 |
| Vintage | Yellow | Not placed by the wiki |
| Chroma | Rainbow gradient | Godly tier (two Ancient exceptions) |
MM2 rarity colors
The wiki's Value page is the one place that names a color for every tier. It reads: Unique is orange, Ancient is purple, Godly is pink, Legendary is red, Rare is green, Uncommon is blue, Common is gray and Vintage is yellow. The individual weapon pages then use exact color códigos in their table headers and text, and those códigos show where the plain color names are a little loose.
| Tier | Value page name | Hex codes on the wiki pages |
|---|---|---|
| Unique | Orange | #F08C00 fading to #874F00 |
| Ancient | Purple | #590FDD fading to #310,382; the Evo table uses #640BF8 |
| Godly | Pink | #FA03B0 (header fades to #99006B) |
| Legendary | Red | #DB0106 (header fades #DD000A to #830,006) |
| Rare | Green | #00C703 (header #23BA27 to #27,308) |
| Uncommon | Blue | #01FEFF in text, a bright cyan; header #37EFEF to #0B8F8C |
| Common | Gray | #6A6A6A to #3E3E3E in the header; the Rare Eggs page writes Common in white (#FFFFFF) |
| Vintage | Yellow | #D9BF00 fading to #6E6100 |
| Chroma | Rainbow | Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet and magenta gradient |
Two of those rows deserve a second look. Uncommon is called "Blue" on the Value page, but the text color the wiki actually uses for it is that cyan #01FEFF, so if you are matching a name tag or inventory border by eye, think cyan rather than navy. Common is the other soft spot: "Gray" on the Value page, a dark gray gradient on the Common Weapons header, and plain white on the Rare Eggs table. The wiki does not explain the difference. These are the colors the wiki pages use, not a reading taken from the game screen.
Chroma is the only tier whose color changes. A chroma weapon cycles through rainbow shades on part of the model, and the Value page's Chroma Seer example points out the rainbow "Chroma" label on the item.
The order of the tiers, and where Vintage fits
The wiki states the order in pieces. Each tier page names its neighbors:
- Common is the lowest tier and sits below Uncommon.
- Uncommon is above Common and below Rare.
- Rare is above Uncommon and below Legendary.
- Legendary is above Rare and below Godly.
- Godly is above Legendary and below Ancient.
- Ancient is above Godly and below Unique.
- Unique is called the highest tier of weapons in the game.
Vintage is the exception. Its page says the weapons come from the original Murder Mystery (MM1), were called Classic until Season 1, cannot be salvaged and can only be traded. It never says which tier is above or below it. The Weapons page lists Vintage last in its rarity table, after Common, and the Value page does the same. The Weapons page adds one hint: Ancient weapons are "worth similarly to Classic and Vintage weapons". So Vintage is a rarity by the wiki's own count of eight, but it is not a rung on the Common-to-Unique ladder.
If you came here searching "mm2 vintage", that is the short answer: Vintage is a real tier, it is yellow, it is trade-only, and the wiki does not rank it above or below any other tier.
Where the wiki disagrees about the ladder
Three small contradictions are worth knowing before you quote a tier order to someone.
- The Weapons page calls Legendary the 3rd-highest tier obtainable from cajas, "only behind Godlies and Chromas", and calls Rare the 4th-highest. That treats Chroma as a step above Legendary and separate from Godly. The Value page lists Chroma as another name for Godly instead.
- The Ancient Weapons page says the tier was added by Nikilis in late 2016. The Value page says Batwing, from the 2018 Halloween Event, was the first ancient weapon ever added. Both statements are on the wiki, and neither explains the gap.
- The Weapons page says there are eight rarities and lists Chroma and Evo separately as "item types". The Chroma page treats chromas as color-changing versions of Godly weapons, yet two chromas (Chroma Emberscythe and Chroma Emberbow, from the 2026 Halloween Event) are listed as ancient, so the "Chroma means Godly" rule has exceptions.
How many weapons are in each tier
Counts come from two places: the number the wiki prints on each tier page, and the rows in this site's own weapons database, which is built from the same wiki and covers the Godly, Ancient, Vintage, Legendary and Unique tiers. The two do not always match, so both are shown.
| Tier | Count printed on the wiki page | This site's database |
|---|---|---|
| Common | No total given (the page calls its list "near complete") | Not covered |
| Uncommon | 99 (62 knives, 37 guns) | Not covered |
| Rare | 84 (53 knives, 31 guns) | Not covered |
| Legendary | 57 (39 knives, 18 guns) | 77 |
| Godly | 124 (85 knives, 39 guns) | 126, plus 44 chroma godlies counted separately |
| Ancient | 16 (the table on that page lists 20 rows, four of them Evo knives) | 16 without Evo, plus 2 chroma ancients |
| Unique | 63 in total (3 obtainable, 60 not) | 6 |
| Vintage | 10 | 9 |
| Chroma | 46 in the game | 46 (44 Godly, 2 Ancient) |
The Legendary and Godly numbers do not agree, and the wiki does not say which total is newer, so treat both as approximate. Weapon lists keep growing with every evento, which makes a count printed in a page intro easy to leave behind. For Unique, the database holds six of the wiki's 63. For Vintage it holds nine of the wiki's ten.
You can browse the tiers this site covers on their own pages: Godly, Ancient, Chroma, Vintage, Legendary and Unique.
Unbox chances by rarity
Box odds are the part of the rarity system that looks the most precise and is the easiest to misread. The wiki's box tables print one percentage next to each weapon, and the same figure repeats down a tier. In Mystery Box 2, for example, all four commons show 70%, all three uncommons 15%, both rares 10%, and so on. Those figures cannot be per-weapon chances, because four items at 70% would already total 280%. They read as tier-level odds: 70 + 15 + 10 + 5 + 0.2 + 0.004 lands near 100.
On that reading, the odds for the standard weapon boxes are:
| Rarity in the box | Standard boxes (Mystery Box 1 and 2, Gun and Knife Boxes, Rainbow Box) | 2026 Halloween and Summer boxes | 2016 to 2018 Halloween boxes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 70% | 70% | 60% |
| Uncommon | 15% | 18% | 25% |
| Rare | 10% | 8% | 10% |
| Legendary | 5% | 4% | 5% |
| Godly | 0.2% | 0.2% | under 1% |
| Chroma godly | 0.004% | 0.004% | not always listed |
The Godly Weapons page says the same thing in words: box godlies "usually have a 0.2% (1 in 500) chance". The 0.004% chroma figure works out to 1 in 25,000, which is why chromas are the thing people chase.
Some boxes break the pattern. The 2026 Valentines Box and the 2025 Christmas Box print the chroma chance as "<0.1%". Several 2023 to 2025 boxes show "<0.2%" or just "0.2%" for it, and the 2024 Christmas Box prints "???". Most older evento boxes say "<1%" for godlies and give no exact number. The Uncommon Weapons page quotes "15 - 18%" and the Rare page quotes 10%, which fits the table above.
For the full contents of any single box, open it from the boxes section. The ones to know are the 2026 Halloween Box while that evento runs, and the standard Mystery Box 1 and Mystery Box 2, which the wiki lists at 1,000 Coins, 100 Diamonds or 1 Mystery Key each.
Crafting and salvage by rarity
Crafting is the only way to move up a tier without opening boxes or trading, and it follows a tidy chain. The Crafting page lists five recipes at the station:
| You spend | You get |
|---|---|
| 12 Common Shards | A random Uncommon weapon (Donut, Love, Checker, Future or Night) |
| 12 Uncommon Shards | A random Rare weapon (Molten Knife, Molten Gun, Damp, Spitfire or Nether) |
| 12 Rare Shards | A random Legendary weapon (Midnight, Overseer Gun, Sparkle, Emerald or Predator Knife) |
| 20 Legendary Shards | Seer, a Godly knife |
| 10 Godly Shards and 10 Godly Metal | A random Painted Seer (Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, Purple or Chroma Seer) |
Shards come from salvaging. A Common, Uncommon, Rare or Legendary weapon gives 2 shards of its own tier. A Godly weapon gives about 1 Godly Shard, depending on the weapon, and a Seer gives 1 Godly Metal. By simple arithmetic from those numbers, one 12-shard recipe means salvaging six weapons of one tier.
There is a catch the page states plainly: only weapons labeled as classic can be salvaged. Código knives, Ancient weapons, evento knives, Vintage weapons, exclusive weapons such as the Xbox knife, and Season 1 weapons cannot be salvaged. The Season 1 actualización page backs that up, saying Season 1 items are neither salvageable nor craftable. So the shard route is limited by how many pre-Season 1 weapons you own.
The crafting station produces no Ancient, Unique or Vintage weapons. The one Ancient craft on the wiki is the event Cauldron recipe for Emberscythe during the Halloween Event 2026. Ancient weapons "have never been obtainable through unboxing", per their page, and come from evento gamepasses, battle pass tiers, evento currency, the Cauldron or trading.
One removed recipe shows how the tiers can move. Flames used to be a craftable Ancient, was changed to Godly after Season 1 following duplication problems, and its crafting recipe was removed. The Crafting page gives the reason as "Value decrease", while the Season 1 page cites duplication concerns. The Value page calls Flames the rare case of a weapon being downgraded.
Unique: the top tier
Unique is the hardest tier to get into. The Unique Weapons page calls it the highest tier in the game, above Ancient, and says that apart from Corrupt, Dartbringer, SharkSeeker and the two Slouse's Clown weapons, every unique was a reward for placing on an evento leaderboard. All of those except Corrupt are untradeable.
The wiki adds figures: 63 unique weapons in total, with 3 currently obtainable and 60 not. The tier used to be called Victim, because Corrupt was handed to victims of the 2014 Data Loss Glitch, and it was renamed Unique "for unknown reasons".
On tradability, the Unique Weapons trivia and the Weapons page both say Corrupt alone can be traded. The Value page is slightly looser: its sentence about leaderboard rewards sets Corrupt, SharkSeeker and Dartbringer apart from the rest, but its own Corrupt caption calls Corrupt the only tradable unique. SharkSeeker and Dartbringer were obtained by redeeming the promotional código that came with a Nerf blaster.
Vintage and Chroma, briefly
Vintage weapons are the original MM1 items: Cowboy, Splitter, Laser, Ghost, Phaser, Prince, Shadow, Golden, Blood and America. The Classic Knife and Classic Gun, given by default in MM1, appear on the Vintage page under "Former Vintage Weapons", with the removal date listed as unknown. The page's trivia says Classic weapons were renamed Vintage in Season 1, when a "Classic" tab for pre-Season 1 weapons appeared in the inventory.
Chroma weapons, per the wiki, are color-changing versions of Godly weapons. After Season 1, each box gained a chroma version of its godly, which is where the 0.004% figure comes from. Others came from evento tiers, gifting or gamepasses. The Chroma Weapons page lists most of them as only obtainable through trading now, although the pages for the 2026 Halloween chromas describe them as obtainable during that evento. Chroma Seer is the odd one out: you can craft it.
Evo weapons, the tier-climbers
Evo weapons start at Rare and evolve to Ancient as you earn XP while holding them: Rare, then Legendary, then Godly, then Ancient. The wiki's table lists 864,000 XP in total to unlock all four stages. They cannot be traded and are bought through their gamepasses (Reaver, Icecrusher and Gingerscythe at 1,699 Robux each, Synthwave at 3,399 Robux, according to the Ancient Weapons page).
Why trade values are community-set
None of the rarity pages gives a trade value, and this site does not publish value numbers either. The Weapons page says each weapon has a value and that it generally rises with tier, "however, this is not always the case". It adds that very rare non-godlies can outvalue some godlies, and it calls high-value items below Godly "collectibles". The Trading page lists what feeds a value: Base Value, Demand, Rarity, Stability, plus smaller factors.
The numbers themselves live on two outside sites, MM2Values (which measures in seers) and Supreme Values (which uses raw value units and is "far more used as of 2025", according to the wiki). Those lists are set and changed by the community, not by the game, so a figure you saw last month may be stale.
Rarity helps you read the lists. The Value page says that although some weapons are rarer than weapons in the tier above them, none have ever been promoted to a different tier. Origin, obtainability and age explain most of the gap: a Unique trophy from a closed evento or a Vintage weapon from MM1 cannot be remade, and a box godly can. If you are about to trade, remember the Trading page's own warning that trading is "an overall risk" because of scams and duping, and that trading is restricted to players at level 10 or higher.
Frequently asked questions
What is the highest rarity in MM2?
Unique. The Unique Weapons, Weapons and Value pages all place it at the top. Most unique weapons were evento leaderboard rewards, and apart from Corrupt they cannot be traded.
What color is each rarity in MM2?
Per the wiki's Value page: Unique is orange, Ancient purple, Godly pink, Legendary red, Rare green, Uncommon blue, Common gray and Vintage yellow. Chroma weapons cycle through rainbow colors. Uncommon text is drawn in bright cyan (#01FEFF) on the wiki.
Is Vintage rarer than Godly?
The wiki does not say. Vintage is listed as the eighth rarity, last in the tables, with no tier above or below it. The Weapons page only says Ancient weapons are worth similarly to Classic and Vintage ones.
What are the chances of unboxing a Godly or Chroma?
For most standard weapon boxes the wiki lists 0.2% (1 in 500) for the box godly and 0.004% for its chroma. Some event boxes print "<1%", "<0.1%" or "???" instead of an exact number.
How many weapons are in each tier?
The wiki's printed counts are 99 Uncommon, 84 Rare, 57 Legendary, 124 Godly, 16 Ancient, 63 Unique, 10 Vintage and 46 Chroma. Common has no printed total. This site's database holds more Legendary and Godly rows than those printed totals.
Can you craft Godly weapons?
Yes, a few. 20 Legendary Shards craft Seer, and 10 Godly Shards plus 10 Godly Metal craft a random Painted Seer, which includes Chroma Seer. The crafting station gives no Ancient, Unique or Vintage weapons; the only Ancient craft is the 2026 Halloween Cauldron recipe for Emberscythe.
