Crafting
Badge in 99 Nights in the Forest ยท 1/5 difficulty ยท 2 diamonds
About
Crafting is one of the most important mechanics in 99 Nights in the Forest, allowing the player to craft items, tools and devices to aid them in their survival. Some of these items have a white circle with a certain number inside, indicating how many of a certain item can be crafted during a run. Crafting works by putting certain materials into the Grinder. Materials that give Scrap/Wood will have corresponding symbols to show approximately how much they give. For example a Broken Fan will have two bolts [๐ฉ๐ฉ] to show that it gives more Scrap. Note that the number of symbols doesn't match the quantity you get: * ๐ฉ = 1 scrap * ๐ฉ๐ฉ = 3 scrap * ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ = 5 scrap * ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ = 8 scrap

Crafting โ In-Depth Analysis
The Crafting badge ties into one of the game's core systems, yet the unlock itself is refreshingly simple: upgrade your Crafting Bench to level 4 for the first time. It sits at 1-star difficulty and grants 2 diamonds, so the value is less about the reward and more about the powerful station you build along the way.
Reaching bench level 4 means feeding the Grinder enough materials, since crafting in this game runs on scrap and wood pulled from junk. Remember the conversion is not linear: a single bolt icon gives 1 scrap, two bolts give 3, three give 5, and four give 8. Prioritize hauling high-yield items like broken fans (two bolts each) rather than wasting trips on single-scrap junk.
The fastest route is to focus on scrap-dense debris scattered around the map and dump it all into the Grinder before spending on other upgrades. Each bench tier costs more than the last, so bank your materials and push straight to level 4 in one go rather than dribbling them across other recipes. Once there, the badge pops and you keep a far stronger crafting hub for the rest of the run.
