Hard Mode Badge — In-Depth Analysis
The Hard Mode Badge has a short requirement: survive 99 days in hard mode. What makes it demanding is the mode itself, not any extra condition. Hard mode was added to 99 Nights in the Forest with the update called The Forest is Angry on January 24, 2026, and the later Corrupted Tools update of January 31 brought new gear together with some balancing changes to that mode. On the wiki, the badge's in-game title is shown as a string of symbols rather than a readable name.
Its listed difficulty is 5 stars of difficulty, and the payout is a reward of 10 diamonds.
It is rated five stars and pays 10 diamonds, the same figures as Dream Team. The Forest Wakes Up update of June 13, 2026 also added the option to select hard mode from the lobby, locked for players whose highest survival is below 10 days, so there is a minimum of experience before you can even attempt it.
