Armour
Armor in 99 Nights in the Forest
About
Armor (or "Armour," referred to as "Body" in the game) is a form of loot the player can find in the Forest. It is a type of equipment the player can wear, which grants them a certain amount of protection against incoming damage, depending on the type of armor. They can either be scattered across the Forest, found in Chests, crafted in the Tool Workshop, or obtained from the Pelt Trader. Once a piece of armor is equipped, it cannot be unequipped (even upon dying and reviving) and can only be swapped with a better piece of armor.

Armour — In-Depth Analysis
Armour (labeled "Body" in-game) is the core defensive equipment in 99 Nights in the Forest, worn gear that grants a flat reduction to incoming damage based on the type you equip. It is foundational to survival: every piece you wear is a buffer between you and the wolves, cultists, and bosses that escalate as the nights pile up.
You can source armour in several ways, scattered loose across the Forest, pulled from Chests, crafted at the Tool Workshop, or traded for at the Pelt Trader. That variety means you are never fully locked out of protection, whether you prefer scavenging, crafting, or hunting for pelts to barter.
The one rule to internalize is permanence: once a piece is equipped it cannot be removed, not even by dying and reviving, and can only be replaced by swapping in a strictly better piece. That makes your first armour choice matter, do not equip a weak scrap of leather if a sturdier set is within reach, because you are committing to it until an upgrade appears. Is it worth grabbing? Unquestionably. Armour is non-negotiable for any serious push toward night 99, just be deliberate about what you lock onto your body.
