The Armor Trim Kit is a one-time-use item that can be used to upgrade an Armor's damage resistance. To use an Armor Trim Kit, you simply have to interact with the kit while wearing a piece of Armor. Upgraded Armors will have parts of them turned into gold and will have increased damage resistance. Note: Boots, Warm Clothing, Helmets, and the Riot Shield cannot be trimmed.

Using it is simple: while wearing armour, you interact with the kit, and the upgraded piece visibly turns parts of itself gold, a clear marker that it now soaks more punishment than its base version.
It is crafted at the Meteor Anvil, the same specialized station behind other trim upgrades, so it is a mid-to-late-game investment rather than something you grab early. Because each kit is consumed on use, you cannot stack the effect endlessly; you are spending crafting resources for a single, lasting bump to one armour piece's durability against hits.
One important limitation shapes how you use it: Boots, Warm Clothing, Helmets, and the Riot Shield cannot be trimmed, so the kit only pays off on your main body armour. Is it worth crafting? For a survival-focused run pushing deep into the nights, yes, squeezing extra resistance out of your best chest piece directly extends how many cultist and wolf hits you can shrug off.
