Halloween is back in 99 Nights in the Forest, but the 2026 content is only the first piece so far. The wiki lists the "Helping Happy" update (2026.10.3) as the start, and it describes webs, Happy's Scythe and three badges. It does not say what else is coming. The 2025 Halloween event, on the other hand, is fully documented: it ran for four weekends and added a trick-or-treat system, potions, a carnival and a hedge maze. This recap walks through that event week by week, using the wiki's Update Log and mechanic pages, so you know what the game has done before and what to look for if more Halloween content arrives. It is a history guide, not a prediction. The wiki never says which 2025 features will return.

The four weekends of the 2025 event
| Date (2025) | Update | Main addition |
|---|---|---|
| October 18 | Trick or Treat | Halloween lobby and map, Trick or Treating, Candies, Halloween Candle |
| October 25 | Potion Making | Cauldron and potions, Witch class |
| November 1 | The Hedge Maze | Carnival, Hedge Maze, Vampire class |
| November 8 | Daily Quests | Halloween content removed, Daily Quests added |
The Trick or Treating page also says the mechanic lasted from October 18 to November 8, 2025. The Update Log for November 8 states that most of the Halloween content was deleted from the game at that point.
Part 1: Trick or Treat
The first update gave the game a Halloween-themed lobby and map. It added the Trick or Treater class, Candies, the Halloween Candle, a Cemetery structure, houses, the furniture Jack-o'-lantern, Spooky Table and Spooky Chairs, and the Pumpkin Bunny and Skeleton Wolf taming skins. Happy the Halloween Guy appeared for the first time as a lobby NPC.

How trick-or-treating worked
According to the wiki, you needed a Halloween Candle first. Candles came from opening chests, killing cultists, finishing a Cultist Raid and finishing the Cultist Stronghold. Then you dropped the candle at a house door to light it, and knocked at night. The owner thought for a few seconds and then gave either a treat or a trick.

- Treats included items such as a Laser Cannon, Raygun, Frozen Shurikens, Frog Boots, Carrot Cake, Pumpkin, Candy Corn, Candy Apple, Pumpkin Pie, Fuel Canisters, Mossy Coins and Bandages. There were also effects: no hunger loss for 3 minutes and faster healing.
- Tricks included dropping every item in your sack, a pumpkin covering your screen, a metal ball chained to your leg, turning you into a frog, being flung away and inverted controls.
Even a trick paid out 3 Candies, and the Trick or Treater class raised that to 4 with a better chance of a treat. The wiki says Candies dropped by a house are picked up automatically if left alone for 40 seconds. There were 10 house types, and some belonged to characters such as the Pelt Trader, the Furniture Trader, the Bird Watcher, an Alien, the Fairy and the Vampire.

For candles, the wiki says the Cultist Stronghold gave the most, around 3 to 10 or more, while a Cultist Raid gave around 1 to 5 or more depending on the number of days. It also suggests the Volcanic biome because it has many cultists. Those are wiki tips, not our own testing.
Part 2: Potion Making
The second weekend added a cauldron next to the crafting bench, the Witch class, and the furniture Bone Claw Chair, Bone Fence and Bone Arch, plus Zombie Bunny and Zombie Wolf taming skins.

You fed the cauldron the ingredients it asked for. Common ones were Morsel, Bunny Foot, Coal, Mackerel, Steak and Berry, and five special plants: Dripleaf, Moonflower, Stareweed, Cavevine and Mandrake Plant. A wrong ingredient made the cauldron explode, knocking you back and leaving poison in the liquid. A correct recipe dropped a potion and 5 Candies, and the wiki says everyone on the server receives the candy, which makes it the best Candy farm listed.
Green potions gave a treat and purple potions gave a trick. Treats were no hunger loss, health regeneration, a speed boost and 5 Mossy Coins. Tricks matched the trick-or-treat list, plus slowness.

Part 3: The Carnival and the Hedge Maze
The final weekend added the Carnival, the Hedge Maze, the Vampire class, and these items: Vampire Cloak, Scythe, Bouncing Blade, Air Rifle, Carnival Ring and Carnival Basketball. It also added two furniture pieces, a basketball game and a Happy Halloween 2025 decoration, a Zombie Bear taming skin and a Carnival flame.

To enter the Hedge Maze you had to finish the three Carnival minigames and collect 3 tickets. The wiki says the maze spawns on day 3 near campfire level 3 to 4 areas, and that the Carnival could be forced with the Carnival Fire. Inside were 4 Spooky Chests at dead ends, a Vampire Chest at the end, a Vampire House you could trick-or-treat, two farm plots with glowing pumpkins and a costume closet. The wiki puts the minimum at 19 Candies from the four chests and the house. It also warns that the Deer can spawn inside at night, so it is best to visit by day.

Candies and the Halloween shop
The wiki lists these ways to earn Candies: trick-or-treating, potion making, asking Happy, scavenging in the lobby (up to 3), codes, carnival games (5 per win, once per run) and chests in the maze (4 guaranteed in each). Candies bought items with a clock icon that only worked during the event and were removed afterwards. The wiki says all items in the shop together cost 4,255 Candies, and that classes could also be bought with Candies. Happy later got his own cosmetic for 200 Candies.

The three Halloween classes
Each weekend came with a new class, and the Classes page shows how they were priced and what they do.
| Class | Price (wiki) | Main perks (wiki) |
|---|---|---|
| Trick or Treater | 30 Candies | 4 Candies per house, slightly higher chance of a treat, more candle drops at level 3 |
| Witch | 900 Candies | Throw a potion at enemies for damage or a random effect, heal allies a little, poison on every effect at a higher level |
| Vampire | 600 Diamonds | Lifesteal energy on melee attacks, faster running at night, better night vision |
The Classes page says classes could also be bought with Candies during the event. On that page the Trick or Treater and the Witch sit in the event-only table, while the Vampire is listed among the regular diamond-priced classes, so it appears to be the only one of the three kept in the regular class list. The wiki also calls the Vampire the strongest class for pure combat and a good pick for Stronghold runs, but those are player opinions on the wiki, not official statements.
The costumes of the missing children
The Missing Children page notes that the four kids had Halloween outfits: Dino Kid wore a clown costume, Kraken Kid a sailor outfit, Squid Kid a mummy costume and Koala Kid a witch costume.
What this means for 2026
The wiki's Halloween 2026 information is limited to the Helping Happy update: webs, Happy's Scythe, and the Reaping, Strawcraft and Sweeping badges. The wiki does not say that candies, houses, potions, the Carnival or the maze are back. One wiki page, about the Spider Infested Tree, says it "will return into the game soon," but we treat that as an unconfirmed note from a player editor. If you see Candies or a candle in your own game, that is new information we cannot confirm here.

How to use this recap
If more Halloween content does arrive, the 2025 event shows the pattern the developers followed: a new mechanic and a new class every weekend, a currency tied to the event, and a final weekend with a bigger structure. Use that as a checklist of things to look for in the Update Log, but remember it is only a pattern from last year and not a promise about this one.
What we could not confirm
We could not find an official end date for the 2026 Halloween content, a list of which 2025 features return, or any 2026 version of the Halloween shop. All numbers above come from the wiki and were not tested by us in the game.
