On July 25, 2026, 99 Nights in the Forest added a new mini biome full of bees, beehives and honey. The Bee Biome is a sweeter cousin of the Fairy Biome: instead of trading flowers for seeds, you plant flowers beside hives, collect a new currency, and spend it with a Beekeeper who sells everything from food to a special weapon. This guide explains how to reach the biome, how the hives and the Giant Hive work, what the Beekeeper sells, how to deal with bees, and which badges and daily quests are linked to the biome. Everything comes from the wiki's Bee Biome, Beekeeper, Bee, Honeycomb, Honey Spear, Badges, Daily Quests and Update Log pages.

What is the Bee Biome?
The wiki calls the Bee Biome a minor biome that requires campfire level 2 or higher. It is added to a run through the Mini Biome selection when you create a party in the lobby. The Update Log says it randomly rotates with the Fairy Biome in each play session, and the Fairy Biome page says the Fairy event and the Bee event cannot happen at the same time. Like the Fairy Biome, anything that can spawn in the normal forest can spawn here too, such as child caves, playgrounds and cultist circles.

You can spot it from far away. The wiki describes lime-colored grass, orange and yellow trees, and a honey-themed palette. Two kinds of trees are listed:
- Birch trees are the main tree. They look like regular trees with subtle gray stripes, pale wood and light yellow leaves. Breaking one drops 3 pale logs and a Birch Sapling that you can replant.
- Hive trees are larger, have branches and exclusively orange leaves. They are the only trees that can spawn hives.
Two special buildings are listed: the Beekeeper's House and the Giant Hive. The wiki also notes that the Bee Biome's page is still a stub, so details may be added later.
How the hives work
The Update Log describes the loop in one sentence: prepare beehives by planting flowers, then use the new honey currency to unlock familiar and unfamiliar items. The Bee Biome page adds that upgrading hives with flowers makes more bees fly in and out to create honey. The Beekeeper's garden has 11 flowers you can pick up next to her house.
Three badges give numbers for the hives:
| Badge | Requirement | Stars | Diamonds (Badges page) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Apiary | Level up 3 beehives to level 3 in one game (collect 40 flowers) | 1.5 | 5 |
| Beekeeping | Start a pollination event 10 times with the Giant Beehive (can be spread over multiple runs) | 2 | 10 |
| Hivecraft | Get 350 honey and buy the Bee Box Recipe Tablet | 2 | 15 |

The wiki says Apiary needs 40 flowers to level three different beehives to their maximum, which matches the daily quest "Spend 40 Flowers on beehives". The Beekeeping badge counts progress across runs, so you can pollinate once per game and still finish it.
Honey, pollen and the Beekeeper

The Beekeeper only appears during the day, outside her house. She sells items for a currency that the wiki calls honey on some pages and pollen on others. They appear to be the same currency, and we use "honey" here, as the Update Log does. Prices on the wiki are:
| Item | Price | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Honeycomb | 10 | Restores some hunger and health |
| Revolver Ammo | 15 | Ammunition for the Revolver |
| Rifle Ammo | 15 | Ammunition for the Rifle |
| Bee Grenade | 30 | Three per purchase, freezes enemies in place when thrown |
| Jar o' Honey | 40 | Restores maximum hunger and health |
| Spear | 50 | The standard spear |
| Honey Spear | 100 | More damage and range than the standard spear |
| Bee Box Recipe Tablet | 360 (350 on the Badges page) | Produces Honeycomb every 2 days |
The Hivecraft badge says 350 honey and the Beekeeper page says 360, so the two pages disagree by 10. Plan for the higher number.
The Beekeeper also has a place in the daily quest list. Tier 1 includes "Buy an item with honey in the bee biome", "Spend 40 Flowers on beehives" and "Activate a pollination event at the giant bee hive". Tier 3 includes "Max out the giant bee hive in the bee mini biome."
The Honey Spear and the Bee Box

The Honey Spear costs 100 and has a damage range of 25 to 40, with the Brawler class listed at 32.5 to 52 and a fully boosted Berserker at 40 to 64. The wiki says it swings every 0.5 seconds and that the extra range lets you hit enemies while avoiding damage by moving in circles. It is a melee weapon for early and mid game that you can afford with enough honey.

The Bee Box Recipe Tablet unlocks a crafting recipe, and the wiki says the Bee Box produces Honeycomb every 2 days, unaffected by day multipliers. Honeycomb is vegetarian food that can go into a Crock Pot. Using 1 Honeycomb, 1 piece of meat and one more ingredient of your choice makes a Candied Meal.

Bees: friend or foe?

Bees are neutral. They wander around, stop at flowers or hives, and only become hostile if you hurt them. Then they and nearby bees chase you until you die or leave their detection radius. The wiki says they do decent damage, which is dangerous early on, and advises against attacking them since they only drop Honeycomb and Morsel, both easy to get elsewhere. A killed bee respawns the next day.
The Bee page lists HP 60, damage 20 and walk speed 16, each with a minus sign in front that the page does not explain, so treat those numbers as unclear. A bee drops 0 to 1 Morsel and 0 to 1 Honeycomb.
Taming a bee
If you have an Old Taming Flute or better, you can click a bee to start the taming minigame while it stays docile. After finishing it, the bee asks for two Honeycombs, and you repeat the process two times. The cost listed is 2 hearts and 2 Honeycombs. A tamed bee does high damage but has low HP, so the wiki leaves the choice to you.

Bee Biome or Fairy Biome?
Since the two mini biomes rotate and never appear together, it helps to know what you give up. The Fairy Biome was added on January 10, 2026 and needs campfire level 3 or higher. Its Fairy trades flowers for seeds: rose seeds, chili seeds, berry seeds, strawberry seeds and brightwood seeds. It also has a Mother Tree that you revive with acorns dropped by Acorn Wolves, and that unlocks a Mossy Chest with an Enchanted Farm Tablet. The Bee Biome starts at campfire level 2, uses flowers to level hives, and pays out in honey for food, ammunition, a grenade, a spear and a tablet. If you want the Apiary, Beekeeping or Hivecraft badges, you need the Bee Biome. If you want seeds and the Mother Tree chest, you need the Fairy Biome. Both pages describe the same idea of spending flowers, so keep flowers in your bag whichever one you get.
A simple plan for a Bee Biome run
This plan is our own suggestion, built from the facts above. We have not tested it in the game.
- 1Select the Bee Biome in the lobby when you create your party, and reach campfire level 2.
- 2Pick up the 11 flowers from the Beekeeper's garden and plant them next to hives.
- 3Level up three hives for Apiary, and start a pollination at the Giant Hive to count toward Beekeeping.
- 4Buy a Honey Spear or Jar o' Honey if you need survival items, and save toward the Bee Box tablet.
- 5Leave the bees alone unless you want to tame one.
What we could not confirm
The wiki does not say how much honey a hive makes, how many flowers each hive level costs, or what exactly a pollination event does. It also lists conflicting numbers for the Bee Box tablet price and the Hivecraft reward, and the Bee page's stats carry unexplained minus signs. This guide is based on the wiki only, and we have not played the update ourselves.
