Three rankings, not one
The biggest mistake players make when picking a fruit is treating "best" as a single answer. The fruit that wins duels is rarely the fruit that grinds fastest, and the fruit that destroys raid bosses is often weak in PvP. Below are three separate rankings โ PvP, PvE/raid boss, and Grinding โ with the actual reasoning behind each placement, the counter-picks to know, and a budget path to get you there.
The data sources are: June 2026 community match-up databases, our own Damage Calculator reference values, 200+ logged endgame raid runs, and real in-game prices straight from the Blox Fruits fruit dealer.
PvP rankings (1v1 dueling)
PvP is decided by burst potential, mobility, and the ability to lock down opponents. Sustained DPS matters less because fights last 30โ60 seconds.
S-tier (95% pick rate at top level):
- Dragon (Beast, Mythical โ $15,000,000 in-game / 5,000 Robux, trade value ~2.9B) โ best "if I land it I win" fruit in the game. The awakened ult combo deletes most opponents from full HP with no real counterplay. Highest trade value in the entire fruit pool for a reason.
- Kitsune (Beast, Mythical โ $8,000,000 / 4,000 Robux, trade value ~2.32B) โ fastest combo extender in the game. Awakened M1 has built-in confirm chains that chain-stun opponents before they can react or reposition.
- Dough (Elemental, Mythical โ $2,800,000 / 2,400 Robux, trade value ~1.45B) โ the most accessible S-tier. Massive AoE plus a ranged execute. Dominant in the meta for two consecutive seasons and still the best entry point into serious PvP.
A-tier (situational, strong with skill):
- Spirit (Natural, Mythical โ $3,400,000 / 2,550 Robux) โ high skill ceiling but heavily rewards mastery. The spirit projectile punishes stationary or predictable opponents hard.
- Control (Natural, Mythical โ $9,000,000 / 4,000 Robux, trade value ~1.4B) โ utility-heavy, hard counters Buddha and Dough by displacing them mid-combo before they can finish their move. The in-game Beli cost is the highest in this list, but it trades well.
- Shadow (Natural, Mythical โ $2,900,000 / 2,425 Robux) โ best at avoiding combos through phasing, mid burst ceiling. Pairs well with fast weapon combos where the fruit provides spacing.
B-tier:
- Venom, Phoenix, Magma, Light. All have one signature move that wins specific matchups but lose to the S-tier picks in open field duels.
Counter-picks to know:
- Against Dough: Control or Spirit (both interrupt the AoE charge before the hitbox fully expands).
- Against Dragon: High-mobility fruits โ Phoenix or Light โ to outheal or outrun the burst window.
- Against Kitsune: Maintain distance at all times; its chain-stun requires close-range confirms to work.
PvE / Raid boss rankings
Boss fights run 3โ8 minutes. Sustained DPS, AoE coverage, and survivability dominate over pure burst.
S-tier:
- Leopard (Beast, Mythical โ $5,000,000 / 3,000 Robux, trade value ~1.69B) โ the highest single-target sustained DPS in the game. True damage on the ultimate bypasses boss defense layers, which makes it the top pick for time-optimised raid clears.
- Dragon โ boss-melter that scales with Haki. The faster you build Haki stacks, the faster the boss dies. Stack damage buffs with the Dragon V2 ult for maximum output on Greybeard and Death King.
- Dough โ AoE during boss adds, single-target burst directly on the boss. A consistently top pick for sub-2-minute Greybeard clears in coordinated parties.
A-tier:
- Buddha (Beast, Legendary โ $1,200,000 / 1,650 Robux, trade value ~335M) โ gigantism makes hitboxes generously forgiving for the whole team, with massive M1 sustain. The default choice for new raid participants on a budget. Gets the job done every time.
- Light โ best fruit for solo raids on Sea 2 bosses (Don Swan and similar). Faster rotation than the S-tier options and significantly cheaper to obtain.
- Magma โ wave-clear specialist. Clears add waves faster than any other fruit, freeing the rest of the party to focus entirely on the boss health bar.
B-tier: Venom (DoT stacking), Spirit, Shadow, Phoenix (sustain tank role).
Grinding rankings (XP/min)
Grinding is about clearing NPC packs as quickly as possible. Mobility, AoE coverage, and minimal cooldown gaps are what win.
S-tier:
- Buddha (Beast, Legendary โ $1,200,000 / 1,650 Robux) โ gigantism plus huge M1 hitbox plus native one-shots on low-level NPCs. Untouched at the top of this category. Buy this first if you are under level 1500 โ nothing else comes close for the price.
- Dough โ beats Buddha on ranged NPC groups but loses to it on boss-room cleanup. Pick Dough once you can afford the 2.8M Beli or trade up from Buddha.
- Light โ Sea 1 and Sea 2 grinding king. Cheap to buy in-game, fast, wide AoE. Your second major investment after Buddha if speed-levelling is the goal.
A-tier:
- Magma โ DoT stacking on packs, very forgiving on timing.
- Ice (Elemental, Uncommon โ $350,000 / 750 Robux) โ slow plus AoE, very beginner-friendly. Surprisingly competitive under level 1000 for the cost.
- Rumble โ competitive at endgame Sea 3 farming specifically because of its long-range AoE reach without needing close-in M1 contact.
B-tier: Phoenix (heal-tank style), Sand (mobility-based farm).

What to buy first โ the budget path
- 1Under level 1000 and just starting: Buy Ice ($350,000 in-game) immediately. It is cheap, the AoE slow lets you tag packed NPC groups without needing precise positioning, and it carries you to around level 800 without serious frustration.
- 2Level 1000โ1500: Save Beli and target Buddha ($1,200,000 / 1,650 Robux). The M1 hitbox expansion from gigantism alone roughly doubles your grinding speed. Do not skip this phase โ it is the biggest quality-of-life jump available at mid-game.
- 3Level 1500โ2000: Target Dough ($2,800,000 / 2,400 Robux). You are entering raid content and Sea 3 zones where AoE burst matters. Trading Buddha plus Light together is a common route to reach Dough without paying the full Beli cost upfront.
- 4Endgame (level 2000 and above): If PvP is the goal, work toward Kitsune or Dragon. Both sit above 2B in trade value, so budget up incrementally โ Dough to Leopard to Kitsune to Dragon is a proven trade chain used by thousands of top-level players.
Expect to hold 2โ3 fruits in rotation as you move between game phases. Trade values support this strategy: Buddha has strong market liquidity, and every upgrade listed above holds its value well.
