Description

Dropped by Order in the Hot and Cold region, Koko is a legendary sword that rewards players willing to grind one of the game's more demanding bosses. Because rarity directly influences base damage and scaling, reaching legendary tier makes Koko a meaningful upgrade for anyone investing heavily in the Sword stat. Its two moves, Electric Stab and Injection Shot, give it a hybrid flavor uncommon among swords — the injection mechanic suggests a debuff or burst component, while the electric stab implies gap-closing pressure. Mastery with both moves builds naturally as you land hits, so consistent use in combat is the fastest path to unlocking their full potential. If you are farming Hot and Cold for Koko, bring enough durability to survive Order's attacks, and expect multiple runs before the drop appears. The legendary rarity drop rate is low, but the payoff for sword mains at this stage of the game is well worth the patience.

Moves & Abilities

3 moves
M1
Normal Attack

The player does 2 swipes, a dash on the third, before ending it off with a sweep.

Z
Electric Stab
Mastery 150

The user charges forward with the power of electricity, damaging and shocking any opponents in the way, and launching them upwards. If used in Control's field, the dash will be longer and with an extended hitbox.

X
Injection Shot
Mastery 325

A rotating crosshair appears in front of the player. When released, a swift lightning projectile shoots out of the sword (does not have projectile mechanics), which damages and shocks any opponents hit by it, while also knocking them back slightly. When used in Control's room, the move's range is boosted to hit anywhere in the field, while also having an extreme aim assist. The shot resembles a laser.

Pros

15
  • Great damage.
  • Very good for hybrids, especially with Control.
  • The moves' range will increase when being inside Control's [Z].
  • Good for combos.
  • Very fast M1s.
  • Decent choice for grinding with Buddha.
  • Both moves can hit multiple targets.
  • Really good upgrade to Shizu because Koko's moves are instant.
  • Stuns the target(s) hit for a brief second.
  • Decent knockback.
  • Mobility move.
  • Has a somewhat large hitbox, making it easy to hit.
  • Great range.
  • Can hit anywhere inside the user's Control Area.
  • Will always break Instinct.

Cons

12
  • Cannot hit Blade users.
  • Needs a bit of aiming skills and a lot of prediction skills to hit in PvP.
  • Swords like Dragonheart and True Triple Katana outperform it, at least in terms of hitbox, range and damage. Although Control Z may fix problems with the range of the sword, the damage and hitbox unfortunately remain the same.
  • Very short stun.
  • Very hard to obtain.
  • High mastery requirements.
  • Dashes at the third M1, making it unreliable for grinding.
  • Hitbox is strangely modified by Awakened Buddha.
  • Not an instant dash, thus making it hard to hit.
  • Weird knockback may make it difficult to use in combos.
  • Slight end-lag.
  • Slightly long wind-up.

Trivia

10
  • 1Koko is used by the Lv. 1250 raid boss, Order.
  • 2Both moves deal the exact same damage.
  • 3Despite being called a katana, Koko itself is an ōdachi, which is longer and larger than a normal katana.
  • 4can be used to no-clip through thin walls and doors.
  • 5Koko is the first sword to be buffed by a fruit other than Buddha, which is Control.
  • 6The hitbox of is at the player's cursor, not the visual, meaning if the player moves the cursor to somewhere else, then the move's hitbox will move as well. For instance, if the player first aimed the in front of themselves but aimed to the right after releasing the move, the target(s) to the right will be affected. (Does not work if the player held the move instead of tapping the move.)
  • 7Koko is not curved like a normal ōdachi, instead it is straight. This suggests that after forging koko was not drenched in water, rather it was left to cool off, which ideally would result in a weaker katana.
  • 8Koko's moves were reworked.
  • 9's range was increased to cover anywhere inside Control's Area as long as the area is active.
  • 10Koko was released.

Koko — In-Depth Analysis

What Is the Koko?

The Koko is a Legendary-rarity sword dropped by the boss Order in the Hot and Cold island of the Second Sea. Introduced in Update 10, it has established itself as a reliable Legendary option for players who want strong multi-target coverage without committing to the more complex endgame swords. Getting it requires farming Order, which can be time-intensive given the rarity tier.

Role and Who It's For

The Koko's defining strengths are its instant-activation moves and very fast M1 speed. Both skills fire without significant wind-up, which makes them very difficult to react to in PvP — a stark contrast to slower Legendary swords. Moves hit multiple targets and the sword will always break Instinct, applying consistent pressure on opponents trying to dodge-spam. It's also noted as an excellent Control-fruit synergy pick: when inside Control's Z field, the Koko's range extends meaningfully.

Weaknesses include a third-M1 dash that disrupts grinding rhythm, high mastery requirements, a short stun window that can be Instinct-tricked, and some weird knockback trajectories that complicate combo follow-ups. It's a demanding weapon to master but pays off with one of the fastest combo strings available in the Second Sea.

- Instant-activation moves are exceptional for PvP burst and combo pressure - Outstanding synergy with the Control fruit - Steep mastery gate; requires dedicated grinding to unlock full skill potential

Tip: When running Koko with Control, activate Control's Z field before engaging — the range extension on Koko's moves lets you hit opponents who believe they're safely out of reach.

Where it shines
  • Great damage.
  • Very good for hybrids, especially with Control.
  • The moves' range will increase when being inside Control's [Z].
  • Good for combos.
  • Very fast M1s.
What to watch out for
  • Cannot hit Blade users.
